Welcome traders,

Let me remind you what’s at stake …

You only get one life.

And in today’s world, your quality of life is completely up to you!

Sure, maybe some people are born into wealthier families or into more affluent areas of the world. But with today’s tools, those differences are almost negligible.

You have the power to drastically change your standard of living. No matter your background.

For example:

  • One of my millionaire students used to valet cars and sell pillows at a mall kiosk.
  • Another one of my students used to work at his parent’s nail salon.
  • I have two millionaire students who started learning this process in college.

You can do anything that you put your mind to.

But, when it comes to trading … Every trader is their own worst enemy.

You need to buckle down and study this process!

Some of my students might say, “but Tim, if I’ve only got one life … I don’t want to waste time studying when I could be living”.

It’s essential that we strike a healthy balance. Studying and preparation is necessary.

You think Lebron James just picked up a basketball one day and started making millions of dollars?? No!

James played for years before he even saw a dime. He hustled, struggled, scratched and clawed his way to the top.

Here’s my point: To some degree, we’ve got to make the necessary sacrifices for the life that we want.

Now let’s get to the watchlist:

Stock #1: BloomZ Inc. (NASDAQ: BLMZ)

This stock started to spike on October 9, during after hours.

The company announced that it was selected as the primary animation production designer for an upcoming Japanese project called “Kakushite! Makina-san!,”.

It’s to begin airing in 2025.

StocksToTrade shows that the float is only 5.3 million shares. Well below our goal of 10 million shares or fewer. The low supply of shares helps prices spike higher when demand increases.

Already last week, the price spiked 110%*. And despite the mid-day dive on Friday, the chart is still holding some of its gains. Take a look, every candle represents one trading minute:

Stock #2: Indonesia Energy Corporation Limited (AMEX: INDO)

This is our top stock to watch that’s related to Middle East tensions.

More conflict in the area is causing oil prices to spike. And it’s bringing some oil stocks with it.

Now, since Iran’s strike against Israel on October 1, we’ve yet to see an Israeli retaliation. As of Friday, October 11 …

But we’re almost certain that there’s one coming … Netanyahu vowed a response.

And on Friday, October 11, Iran warned its neighbors not to help Israel with an offensive. Mainly referencing bordered airspaces in the area.

INDO has already spiked 140%* since Iran struck Israel on October 1. And the price is still up …

On the chart below, every candle represents one trading day:

A retaliatory strike from Israel could encourage another spike on INDO.

It’s not something that I’m hoping for.

But as a trader and a mentor, it’s my job to make sure that we’re prepared for this play.

Pay attention to past price action and key areas of support and resistance.

Cheers

The available research on day trading suggests that most active traders lose money. Fees and overtrading are major contributors to these losses.

A 2000 study called “Trading is Hazardous to Your Wealth: The Common Stock Investment Performance of Individual Investors” evaluated 66,465 U.S. households that held stocks from 1991 to 1996. The households that traded most averaged an 11.4% annual return during a period where the overall market gained 17.9%. These lower returns were attributed to overconfidence.

A 2014 paper (revised 2019) titled “Learning Fast or Slow?” analyzed the complete transaction history of the Taiwan Stock Exchange between 1992 and 2006. It looked at the ongoing performance of day traders in this sample, and found that 97% of day traders can expect to lose money from trading, and more than 90% of all day trading volume can be traced to investors who predictably lose money. Additionally, it tied the behavior of gamblers and drivers who get more speeding tickets to overtrading, and cited studies showing that legalized gambling has an inverse effect on trading volume.

A 2019 research study (revised 2020) called “Day Trading for a Living?” observed 19,646 Brazilian futures contract traders who started day trading from 2013 to 2015, and recorded two years of their trading activity. The study authors found that 97% of traders with more than 300 days actively trading lost money, and only 1.1% earned more than the Brazilian minimum wage ($16 USD per day). They hypothesized that the greater returns shown in previous studies did not differentiate between frequent day traders and those who traded rarely, and that more frequent trading activity decreases the chance of profitability.

These studies show the wide variance of the available data on day trading profitability. One thing that seems clear from the research is that most day traders lose money .
