10 Sketchy Stocks, Spammers & Scumbags, But Hey, They Are In Play!
First, I gotta apologize to anyone who went to that event last night to meet me–my laptop suffered a fatal crash so I am actually writing this from an internet cafe in a Burger King (I wish I was joking)…needless to say, I’m on the market for a newlaptop, any of you guys have any suggestions? So far I know not to get Sony or Dell as the office of the laptop guy who tried to fix mine, but only ended up backing it up, was filled with those…he recommended Fujitsu, sketchyyyyy. And no I’m not gonna get my first Apple, I’m not that cool…yet. Gonna be interesting how I try to do LiveStock this Friday on some random computer…might just be me in front a green screen!

8 Stocks I Investigated To Potentially Short Sell Today, See The Results Here
UAUA & LCC are just two of several rebounding airline stocks, now financing/news plays, not for me, less predictable
MKTY is my #1 potential short today, especially on any spike, I was early shorting yesterday, but played it safe and even managed to escape with a small gain…TIMalert subscribers know all about it as the subscriber-only website had over 100 comments yesterday (new record!)…also discussed in my blog post last night…this is a pure pump, but it’s only a $25 million company so it can go further than you think possible…yesterday was 2nd big up day, if this pattern holds true, the 3rd day is tough for it to finish up big, let alone up at all…of course the pattern h as mutations so maybe we’ll get a true Supernova here…at the very least, I’m hoping it can squeeze some early shorts past the the key $5 resistance
ZYXI is the latest TIMalert pick to be a giant success…I

LiveStock Returns Tomorrow 1-2PM EST, Help Me Get Playboy’s Hottest Bloggers On As Guests!
Oh yes, another week, another all new live episode of LiveStock tomorrow from 1-2PM EST. Definitely tune in at http://www.mogulus.com/livestock and feel free to ask me any questions whatsoever! (Try to ask some in advance in the comments section of this post cuz you know the chatroom is gonna be outta control as usual)
There are some exciting changes as this is the week as we’re introducing a new graphical feature so you can actually see the charts and data in the background and ore importantly, there’s no weak guests this week so it’s gonna be hardcore trading talk, none of that sissy value investor crap.
I am trying to get some more quality guests in the coming weeks so let’s flex our community muscles by voting for two of the gals in Playboy’s Hottest bloggers poll:
Check Out My Friend’s Apartment For Rent
I want to use this blog for good not evil so I gotta help a friend out who’s looking for a roommate…she’s one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met, not to mention one of the prettiest (she’s the one dressed in black in the pic below…I’d link her Facebook profile, but she might try to kill me, which wouldn’t be cool) and her place is downtown Manhattan. It’s a pretty pimp place, and all the details are below, but HERE’s her Craigslist ad to contact her. So if you need a place to live in NYC for a little over $2k/month (not a bad deal for your own bedroom and bathroom) starting August 1, definitely hit her up.
LIVESTOCK TIME!
Watch LIVESTOCK right here or visit the all new LIVESTOCK homepage and chat live with me between 1pm EST - 2pm EST.
7 Stocks You Shouldn’t Trade, Long Or Short
Nothing particularly special, but that’s no reason not to get to know some messy chart patterns…aka learn what kind of chart patterns NOT TO PLAY!
A few weeks ago, AsiaInfo Holdings Inc. (ASIA) reported great earnings, now it’s consolidating…blehhhhhh…this stocks loves to breakdown after spiking, but now has positive news for a change. 50/50 up or down, leave this one alone.

Converted Organics (COIN) is full of pumpers and recently executed a perfect double top at $14, but it still broke out of a multi-week base in the $9-$11 range. Wait for it to prove itself above $14 or for the bottom to fall out…until then leave this to the pumpers and suckers.

7 Smallcaps I’m Watching Right Now
GPS maker SiRf Technology (SIRF) is down more than 50% over the past few days—a victim of intense competition and weak forward guidance. Now people are viewing it as a takeover and a dirt cheap technology play–I’m not sure if I agree with those conclusions, but I definitely wouldn’t be shorting this stock anytime soon. I also won’t be buying very quickly either because just as 50% off sushi can sometimes be a great deal, it can also make you very sick. This play can make your account sick. Avoid, with a potential long bias if the stock starts to uptrend.

Slow Monday Morning, Just Some Potential Plays
Slow morning in terms of volatile plays… BJRI was perfect in the morning, successfully cracking 3-day support at $15.60, but it’s down big so shorting isn’t an option until the late afternoon, hopefully we can get a bounce but still finish down on the day—possible retrace to $14. JRJC, down too much big at the open and TRMP, down enough to not make it worthwhile for me to be short all day.
A Great Environment For Traders, Even Terrible Timing TIM
TIM $15,055, Up $220 on the Day
I was damn right on calling a double bottom on MOS in the $71-72 range but my profiting $1/share made me miss out on the $7/share that followed—that’s right, now it’s $80+! That’s called luck—every stock bounced with the 500+ turnaround in the Dow—now it’s the shorts turn to panic. As I posted earlier, I wanted either panic (longs panicking) or end of the day green—well, I got big end of the day green and that’s why I bought a stock that I made $1.75/share on (impressive for me)—read on to see which one it was…
Took A Half Position In MOS Here At $72.15
Bought 60 shares at $72.15. We got some nice mid-day panicky action here and even though it’s holding near its lows, I can’t help but think this is a double bottom in the $71-$72 range. If it cracks $71, I’ll sell, but I think this can surge to $75-$77 pretty easily if the market tries to make an afternoon rebound. We’ll see, definitely not a perfect play, by any means, and that’s why it’s only a half position…
Sitting In The Airport And Watching
Wow, that old guy is freaking out so he cut 75 basis points, no love for the short sellers. Why can’t these people just give up, just once? I know, I know, it’s bad to root for the economy to fail, but then again, most of you haven’t met all the dumb people I have–these guys deserve to be wiped out.
So, maybe we’ll have a comeback today, maybe we won’t, Europe still hasn’t bounced on this rate cut, not a good sign for our markets today…but who knows, market prediction isn’t my game… I’ll be flying all day as my flight was just delayed–probably for the best since there’s really no perfect charts out there (although if I’d been able, I doubt I would’ve been able to resist buying MOS at $72 this morning).
Worldwide Markets Are Crashing, We’re Going To Have Black Tuesday, This Is Going To Be Great!
Tim Sykes: We now interrupt your regularly scheduled vacation to bring you this important information–the US markets are going to get absolutely devastated tomorrow Tuesday January 22, 2008.
With European markets currently down 7% this MLK Day on US recession fears, just how badly will the US markets drop on US recession fears? Who knows and who cares, the key is that finally all these over-leveraged, over-greedy, overly-naive financiers, house flippers, wannabe Wall Streeters–all these idiots are going to be wiped out and everyone will have learned an incredibly valuable lesson: there are any ways to make money in the short-term, but if you take on excess risk, get too greedy and fail to understand how prices can reverse when there’s too much dumb money, you will inevitably get slaughtered.
What Bear Market, 4 Big Stock Winners
Helicos Biosciences (Nasdaq: HLCS)–those genetic analysts are sooo in right now, I’ll wait for the first down day to short.
Last Day of 2007, Still Lessons To Be Learned
December 31st, 2007 Review:
TIM $14,327 (down $68 on the day, up $179 or 1.26% on the month)
Covered 200 CSUN @ $17.06, Re-shorted 300 @ $16.55 ($15ish Gain, Holding Overnight)
Shorted 700 JADE @ $5.75, Covered @$5.80 ($55 Loss)
I’ll get into my monthly, probly even a yearly review in another post; for now, I’m just gonna review today because these trades serves as yet another great lesson.
