Sykes’ 11: Some Pretty Decent Trading Setups You Must See
ZYXI is one in which I’m extremely comfortable being short 1,000 shares at $3.18 cuz as I told TIMalert subscribers (who also managed to grab 99% of the shares available to short), I’ll either get a morning panic or gradual fade over the next few days as is foretold to me by God. Yes, that’s right, God came down and showed me their quarterly report containing quotes like “We plan to increase our penetration of the standard electrotherapy market by further expanding our sales organization and broadening our product offering” and this gem: “For this reason we may raise additional capital through debt or equity financing in 2008.” which added together makes it rather obvious that this company is gonna dilute their stock sooner rather than later—no different than a million other piece of microcraps raising money like Agfeed Industries (FEED) (remember that blog post?) (look at that chart and tell me it’s not ZYXI..PS FEED is 40% lower now)—and this runup is likely orchestrated by those in on that deal. Yes, God, I love this corrupt microcrap financing game, keeps companies like RedChip aka RedSh%& in business LOL
WSCI turned out to be good for a 50 cent morning tan yesterday, I hesitated and missed out, just never really looked ideal, although it was a high percentage short off the failure to crack resistance at $10…expect further weakness, but I really only wanna
Manipulation Monday: 6 Stocks To Get The Week Started
ZYXI is now going to be my number one short the minute it goes red on the day, reserve shares early to short, but the key is not shorting until you see that kind of weakness as otherwise, you’re just gonna get squeeeeezed
UBHI is the latest example of how good it is to short a piece of crap company that’s runup far too quickly on its first down day…a few TIMalert subscribers shorted into the morning panic or afternoon breakdown…as I talked about on LiveStock (which you can view the archived episode HERE)…now it’s possible continuation to the downside, but I really wish this one had run up more…oh well, no one cares what Sykes thinks, reserve shares to short just in case of any big spike
PRVT is a dead cat bounce, up 40% but only 40 cents/share…hope it goes up more (to give more potential downside), although its unlikely, reserve shares just in case
17 Stocks To Watch, 11 Of Which I’m Totally Ignoring, Guess Which Ones!
ZYXI is vertical price action, but remember its got “solid” fundamental business news…reserve shares every day to short this piggie when its time for it to roast…mmmmm
UBHI is now totally vertical, buyers have balls, but not big ones as last vertical up wave barely retraced at all…it is getting steeper though so a big fall could be forthcoming, reserve shares every day to be prepared
MNLU had big volume, but barely moved—means big selling, many short sellers…definitely reserve shares to short, this one could really tank after any minor dip, support at $6, but its weak, really could drop all the way to $5
IDAE is trying to hold its gain, who cares if it does or doesn’t..I’ll only buy on a true breakout and even then, I’m hesitant since the “up a little every day” pattern they worked so hard to build is now dead, eaning the price action could be messy (see my Pennystocking DVD for explanation of messy charts)
ETLO might be illiquid, but when a stock can drop $4/share in a day, you gotta find shares to short…apparently some brokers had shares, anybody win?
12 Stocks Whose Setups Are Just Getting Started…Patience Young Skywalker
No positions, jut watching, lots of decent setups forming, just gotta be patient, then aim small, miss small…the same thing we do every day Pinky:
ZYXI is continuing its run on a good sales report form July 3rd…let it run, reserve shares every day just in case it begins to fade as it’ll be a good quick fader…eventually
MNLU is a continuation breakout, TIMalert subscribers got in in the mid $6s…already some nice testimonials and methinks short sellers are screwed this morning…probly too illiquid to enter now though, can’t wait for it to go up too much so I can short it!
LBAS is also illiquid, but it’s about to breakout for the 4483rd time, where it stops nobody knows, MXFD went into the $20s
10 Rotten Stocks, I Mean Dirty Rotten Scoundrel-Type Stocks, Great For Trading!
Don’t worry, with THIS crap, the SEC is only trying to stop short selling from pummeling definite-incompetents, probable-insolvents like Wachovia Corporation (WB) and Washington Mutual, Inc. (WM) into the oblivion which they truly deserve aka there’s no crying in finance! Some call it required compassion, I call it the result of successful lobbying. Everyone can still short OTCBB frauds, in fact the SEC probly wants us to!
ALTH I featured this breakout the other day, turned out to be a good one, but only by 50 cents…so far….zzzzzzzzzzz
MNLU is another breakout play I featured and one I alerted TIMalert subscribers to an easy 40 cents/share going into yesterday’s market close—nobody really needed me as the break of the morning high shoud’ve been enough to get all Pennystocking students in as this was a prototypical breakout play…I took profits of $340 as it was waaay too quick for my taste—sorry subscribers, as I emailed you, I wanted a gradually runup into the close, gap higher and possible morning squeeze…my target was only $7 as this one, while going up pretty much every day, has never proven itself to be a huge mover (only one time before and it quickly reversed afterwards)…good news is this thing should still keep going higher as I simply latched onto a breakout in progress (true breakout was at $6)…just be careful with these plays, maybe even try to reserve shares to short in case it super spikes up to $8, 9 or $10 (odds of that are very low)
IDAE is still green every day, but volume and price strength have now faded a bit…time to reserve shares to short just in case it decides to pull an LBAS/MXFD reversal/crash they both displayed early in their runups before resuming uptrends (dangerous to buy on dips as many OTCBBers never recover)
SOIGF speak of the devil, this old school spammer is trying to reclaim its glory days, fat chance, again, give it time to run, its guaranteed that it’ll fall back down, just waaay too many
10 Piece Of Crap Stocks, Gotta Love Trading ‘Em, The Patterns Are Soooo Predictable!
After all, it helps to have failing/fledgling or no business whatsoever so as not to get in the way of hype and manipulation!
Curis, Inc. (CRIS) is breaking out soooooooo gradually, doubt it goes very far, multi-year downtrender, has spike to $2 in the past
Allos Therapeutics, Inc. (ALTH) is barely breaking above 2008 highs, but still is 50 cents away from 2007 highs, don’t underestimate it though
MNLU keeps going, clear and defined breakout at $6, watch it soooooo closely, probly my favorite breakout play as it could really pop 50 cents-$1/share within a few minutes/hours
Manipulation Monday: 10 Great Low Priced Stocks To Watch
IDAE is the one stock I own, my #1 idea right now, confirmed breakout, solid story, solid manipulation—only 2 down days in 2 months—see my full post HERE, I really want to hold today and tomorrow, but if the gain is large enough or it shows signs of fading, I might just have to sell some/all
ZYXI is breaking out, 75 cents/share of vertical action, I want it to get really extended before I short, reserve shares to short just in case
CMIN is a sketchy gold company breaking out of a multi-month base between $1-$1.25ish…last runup went from 25 cents to $1, so maybe this one has legs?
MODG still continues higher from news the other day…watch it for possible short (still would like it to go higher first)
9 Stocks To Watch, At Least Until LiveStock Comes On This Afternoon!
SulphCo, Inc. (SUF) signed a distribution agreement, some of the 11mil shorts are scared, horrific company, stock up a ton %-wise, only $1/share in real life, resistance at $3, lots of bitter longterm shareholders, reserve shares to short on possible fade…it’s my #1 potential short, but I’d love for it to continue up squeezing some shorts, maybe a Friday afternoon short squeeze if possible…maybe 1-02 more days of a runup, oh god that’d be nice…need a lot more upside to gimme some nice margin of error to capture 50 cents/share on the downside, we’ll talk a lot about this stock today on LiveStock from 1-2PM EST (watch the show HERE)
Tengasco, Inc. (TGC) is the strongest of the fallen oils, let it rebound, trust me, it’ll rollover eventually, probly in a gradual fashion though, none of that $3 to $3 beauty in 10 minutes we saw the other day
GIGM is now down $1, an agonizingly slow $1/share over 2 days…I’m glad I missed out, no way in hell, I woulda held that whole time…glad many of you guys did have the patience
10 Stocks To Watch, Only Freddie Mac (FRE) & Fannie Mae (FNM) Really Interest Me
You really gotta understand how slaughtered people are getting right now—illiquid positions, leverage and a lack of joke of an industry transparency have combined to create the perfect storm….just ask John Devaney whose one awesome fund just went under.
Just like yesterday afternoon, today I have a full day of meetings with advertisers, partners, etc—don’t whine, you don’t need me to say when you should trade, if you’ve watched my PennyStocking DVD enough, you know EXACTLY what patterns and variables to look out for…and if I do these deals, I’ll finally be able to concentrate fully on trading/blogging…pray for me.
Not many pumps for me to short, just less predictable oil movers like FPP, HYGS, QTWW, blehhhh, I’ll take a good pump and dump any day of the week, but the pups go into hiding during market crashes…that’s the only reason why I care if this economy/market collapses—it influence pump and dumps!
Remember the other day when I featured FRE and FNM HERE as perfect breakdowns? Yeah well, those two stocks are influencing the entire market right now considering they account for half the $12 trillion market in home loans…educate yourself with THIS article—if they fail, say hello to Dow 10,000 and below (good, we could use a nice cleansing of all the dumb real estate money)!
20 Stocks I Might Short Sell: Yes, Trading Destroys Your Life, Enjoy!
Just put ‘em all in a watchlist and watch ‘em…some will go nowhere, some will spike, some will drop…aim small, miss small, learn to understand the setups that lead to the biggest drops:
GETG had a nice reversal—thought about shorting into the clo0se, but now that Thinkorswim got strict about the Pattern Day Trader rule, I’m scared to short imperfect setups, kinda of a gift and a curse…no support til $3, definitely reserves shares for possible short
WLGC is a patent play, they typically runup nicely, but only if the volume is there and inevitably come crashing down, reserve shares to short just in case
ARTE whaaaat? Trying to make a cup & handle breakout right into resistance at $2? Wow, this would be pretty amazing, I just can’t believe it, reserve shares just in case this breakout attempt fails…hopefully it keeps goin cuz right now potential downside is shit
Ambac Financial Group, Inc. (ABK) is a distressed financial stock, not for me, gotta know what you’re good and not good at & stay disciplined
Radian Group Inc. (RDN) is the same exact thing, tempting, but no thanks…waaaay too new-related, I totally p refer pump and dumps and frauds, at least those guys don’t pretend to be competent
ERII was alerted, traded and written about….good god, this was a nice 15-20%…now, who knows, lots of bitter shareholders, even more people believing it’ll spike again…I just don’t care, I go for that initial pop cuz it’s more predictable. Avoid.
10 Hot Stocks, Still No Perfect Setups So I Will Have Patience Unlike A Strung Out Kate Moss
The new TIMalerts subscribers-only website is up…check it out: http://www.timalerts.com
TIMalert subscribers, use your Paypal email addresses and register for the site, we gotta manually approve you so none of the hyenas who can’t afford $30/month get in
Non-subscribers: I have a feeling all/most of the serious stock/trading talk is gonna switch over to this new premium site–of course I could be wrong–so even if you don’t give a sh$% about my trading alerts, you might wanna consider signing up to TIMalerts so you don’t miss out on any info/discussion/tips on this new site. Try it out for a month, if $30 is really gonna kill you, you shouldn’t be trading penny stocks in the first place!
Genta Incorporated (GNTA) is now a perfect triple within a few weeks, sufficient long-term downtrend means odds favor a short soon—but not until it shows signs of fading…reserve shares just in case
PATIENT ACCESS SOLUTIONS INC (PASO) just got bigtime video promotion yesterday after the market close by classy promoters Stockwire.com (see rather impressive video..I mean production quality, not company quality…duhhhhh…HERE) they teased it over the weekend though so smart traders already coulda/shoulda/woulda done research/bought, anitipating the probable gap higher today…former Stockwire promotion SPKL went from 50 cents to $2 in a month—before the inevitable pump and dump gradual multi-month fade (silly investors, buy into the hype, but never believe it!)—so there’s probly upside here, but let’s see how it plays out…as TNRO teaches us lately, not all promotions work out
IndyMac Bancorp, Inc. (IMB) I posted about this nearly a week ago HERE and it looks like I was dead on…bad news, can’t get financing, definitely not a bottom fishing buy, without positive news, it’s a low probability pattern to buy into (sorry Lionmaster!), could still yet turnaround, but who knows, who cares, now it’s CNBC talk bait
Guest Post: Superman’s Second Half 2008 Stock Picks
Unlike most narrow-minded finance freaks, I like to introduce you readers to all strategies, especially proven profitable ones, no matter if they’re not right for me cuz I’ve got the patience of a paparazzi photographer trying to snap shots of ARod & Madonna. So, here are the 2nd half picks of a longer-term trader who likes to buy, not short, speculative names whom I greatly admire, Superman.
Many of you TheLion.com readers know his research/influence is legit, and I’d brag about the incredible performance of his 1st half 2008 picks, but he already does that in the solid guest post below:
I am back from vacation. What I did learn is that Vegas seems to be hit hard by the economy. Everyone I talked to there said the same thing. It has been much slower due to the economy. It was easy to see. Need to research some Vegas stocks that may have more downside for potential shorts.
The first half of 2008 was an amazing time for me. As most know, I researched and pounded the table on PDO when it was $5-$7. My first buy was $4.47 and the stock ended up gaining 929% from that point to peak at $46. Other strong gainers I researched and selected included SINO 142% NTI 138% GBR 96% and CKX 65% (Gain percentage was measured from my first buy to the stocks peak thereafter. I always take some profit when I am up and use mental stops on the rest if I still believe the stocks will go higher. As you can see I am not a daytrader, but look for quality stocks that can make strong moves in time.
The market as we all know, has been in the tank. Oil is rising, the dollar is weakening, the credit crisis continues, and hopes for a second half economic rebound is on the ropes.
China stocks have also been in the tank, EPS or not.
However, I believe, In every market, there are always certain stocks and sectors that will still do well. It is a matter of being very selective with long positions. The industries must be in demand, even in a slowdown.
My top 3 stocks for the second half of 2008, in my opinion, meet this criteria:
Manipulation Monday: 12 Stocks That Sadly Aren’t As Corrupt Or Manipulated As I’d Like
Yeah, it’s sad, trust me, I know. Friggin promoters go into hiding in the Caribbean during true bear markets, hopefully we can tempt one or two out—maybe tell ‘em Osama bin SEC is taking the month of July off to reevaluate their priorities—cuz I hate writing/trading about the real—or mostly real—companies below:
Getting lots of emails over the weekend from people wondering whether they should dip their toes in FPP, PDO, ROYL…I dunno man, these things tanked once and rebounded gradually, but as I posted in THIS article over the weekend, their chart pattern reek of double tops…risky bet to buy on the dip, no gratzie, not for me.
MBRK is a classic case of a wannabe financial journalist pumping a stock up…detailed post coming, just reserve shares for possible short
10 Stocks To Consider Short Selling, I’m On Fire So Pay Attention
HYGS
Alerted TIMalert subscribers that I shorted this at $2.29 in the morning, hoping for a gradual fade into negativity saying “i think if it takes out 2.28-2.25ish, it can go under $2”, DEAD ON, stock dropped to under $2 too quick for my comfort, I bailed for quick $250ish profit (detailed post coming)….woulda shorted into the afternoon fade (yes, that’s a perfect one), but I had no trades left, definitely reserve shares to short, pray it spikes again as this could really fall to sub-$1.80 if the setup is right, just gotta wait and see the price action
TGC
Also alrted TIMalert peeps to my horrific amateur mistake on this, shorted accidentally at $3.49, brings up VRML mistake of old, after being down 25 cents/share, covered for 5 cents into dip, which turned out to be a major crack below $3.20, missed out on a perfect afternoon fade of 50+ cents/share, damn thing stings like B…good news is TIMalert subscribers banked as alert was sent out at $3.60…(please post $ gains below)…good news is I expect possible further downside so reserve shares just in case pattern looks good
Trust No One But Respect The Action: 3 Oil Breakouts & 4 Breakdowns
Ahh you gotta love it when new players enter and old ones retire—traders AND stocks. The key is being able to take what you can from each and then move onto the new hotness…
With that thinking, I loved CNEH—it was a weekend affair—but its proving itself to be too slow to continue to interest me (that’s right, I have commitment issues, I said it), CHQ and GST have been trying awfully hard, but their volume just plain sucks. Traders are fickle, we gotta have big moves and big volume…
So check out the 7 charts below, 3 of them are the new hot plays
