MCG Capital Corporation (MCGC) was one truly weak breakout, but that’s what I should’ve expected fro such a large company trading at ¾ its book value, very LZB-like although it did finish higher…I wanted to give it more time to jump, but the buyers near the market open looked few and far between while the sellers were steady…gotta watch my Level 2 DVD to understand how I look at things, but selling into strength, especially given Friday’s failure to hold near its highs turned out to be the right decision…still a potential buy for the patient, probly just not me, especially given that there will be unpredictable news this Thursday.
3 earthquake/tsunami stocks I’m watching this week…none of them did anything special, TAYD was actually a decent short from the morning spike highs, but overall this is a good lesson why I ignore stocks without much volume as I only want to trade stocks that are truly in play.
Wave Systems Corp. (WAVX) displayed a great arc of emotion surging from 3.75 to 4.75 back down to 4 ish by the end of the day…I’d love to have shorted it when it broke mid-day support at 4.30ish but alas I could not find any shares to short.
