3 Hour LiveStock Today 1-4PM EST With Superstar Guest PhilStockWorld & 8 Penny Stock Picks

Posted by Timothy Sykes on Fri 6th of Mar, 2009 11:45:25 AM

The following was sent to TIMalert subscribers at 12:30AM today…you wish you were that prepared for today’s trading session, don’t you?

Get excited since we have a special guest Phil Davis from PhilStockWorld.com on today, LiveStock is gonna be from 1-4pm…tune in HERE.

Also, I’m having a Twitter-only contest that you need to enter by 10am EST to qualify…guess the closing price of the S&P 500 today and win a cool StockTwits hat! See my Tweet for rules on how to apply and don’t bother emailing me your guesses, only Tweets will be accepted (gotta get you guys used to it…hint, hint)

No real great setups today so probly no trades, but here are some of the stocks I’m watching:

IDT was the big winner yesterday, dropping nearly 30% before 10:30am…one of their employees Tweeted me saying the 90% spike was due to forced 401k buying…interesting…I wussied out, mistakenly believing there’d be a second surge to short into, but at least a few TIMalert subscribers cashed in:

$320 in an hour, I’ll take it Tim!
–J.

+$173 on IDT, still have a small position
-Reaper

Just shorted 200 shares, but the $64 profit pays for 2 months of TIMalerts, thank you for the early watchlist
-Tom G.

RGR was a sweet breakout in an ugly ugly market…if I had any guts, I’d have bought on the 10am and multi-day breakout at $9.50….but buying any breakout in this market climate is just too scary…especially for somebody who’s not great at buying in the first place….but it was a nice 50 cent breakout, the pattern fits the one detailed in my original PennyStocking DVD.

GVHR got acquired, that’s why it was 84% yesterday and that’s also why it barely budged after it opened…guys, you seriously need to stop emailing about these plays and learn what kind of stocks I trade…I suggest you start HERE.

EGLE dropped 14% yesterday in a very choppy manner…so much for everyone’s claims the runup form the day before would be the start of some big 100% run…no play here now, I don’t like

MIC dropped 12% yesterday, but it was pretty flat after the initial drop at the market open…no real solid play here, next!

RATE, which I’ve been profiling since it broke down in the low $20s the other day…now it’s at $16 after getting its earnings estimates clipped…several TIMalert subscribers banked:

RATE profit of $231 (I covered yesterday, I wish I did today, but gain is gain)
-Kevin

Took home $4+/share on this one Tim, thank you mucho!
-J.R.

LZR is two days into its post-earnings surge, its gone from $5 to $7 so far, very gradual though, a great many sellers everywhere, makes me wan to think about short selling it, but then again, the price action is choppy, so I’ll probly just sit on the sidelines.

BX I was watching all day since it was PERFECT sideways action right under resistance at $6, but when it double-bottomed off the day low at $5.90 around 3pm yesterday, I gave up watching…but at 3:30pm, the stop loss orders were triggered and thing tanked 10% in the last 30 minutes of market action…ah well, too quick for me, let alone sending out any alert right into the market close.

on demand starts halfway through all the time. I don't get why is he so into SKF when you trade FAZ
  • Good show today, had to leave 1 hour in...watched it on demand after I got back. Confusing sh** but sorta makes sense after watching it again on demand.

Tim, you are brave to have a 3 hour show. Must have a lot of content. Good Luck, as I will be tuned in and eager to hear what you have in store for us.
