PennyStocking Success Means New Website Features: Quotes & Chat

Posted by timothysykes on Tue 27th of May, 2008 03:30:08 PM

Congratulations to PennyStocking!

It started out late last year with me starting this blog, rambling on about how penny stocks were more predictable than regular stocks and that if I could turn thousands into millions in just a few years, everyone else can too–particularly because I’m not even that great at it! Since this was a rather remarkable concept, I pledged to repeat my feat, to prove to everybody what kinds of profits were possible. Some people believed me, but most didn’t understand what the hell I was talking about, choosing to write me off as just another snake-oil salesman.

Now, just six months later, when there are daily posts from PennyStocking students like Webster making $900 per day and JeffMoates making $10,000 over the past month, I’m filled with pride. People are starting to realize this ain’t no BS marketing scheme and I ain’t no snakeoil salesman, this is real and I’m your crazy yet experienced guide.

So now it’s not just me anymore, thank God! Now I’m determined to build this website into something much more than just a crappy one-person’s-opinion-blog, this is gonna be a fully interactive financial portal featuring the experience and know how of many traders. F$#@ boring narrow-minded finance websites, this is financial speculation 2.0.

Helping to get things moving, we now have quotes, news, charts and SEC filings, courtesy of the fine folks at AlphaTrade.com, which you can see below or bookmark directly at TimothySykes.com/quotes

And right above the comments section, you might’ve noticed a little button that says “slide the switch to turn on chat”, courtesy of a great little piece of software called Firef.ly. It opens up a screen over the website where you can type little messages to each other. And, if that’s too new for you, there’s always the chatroom on the LiveStock page, in which we’ll definitely setup scheduled chats once we get it configured properly…

so, thanks again guys, this really is just the beginning, wait til we’re all past the $25k mark and can trade freely…then it gets really interesting, think $5,000 and $10,000 days…

Gotta agree with Tim here. Need to learn how to play from both the short & long side. Personally I'm just taking the best play or two of the day. If it happens to be short, I'll do that. If it happens to be long, I'll do that. Or if the best play is short, but no shares available, and next best play is long, I'll go long. I'm also trying to stick with swing trades rather than day trades as it lets me maximize my buying power....that's why I've been shorting into the close on the 1st negative day and then covering the next day...worked great on GBR...would've worked great the other day on FPP too had I given my position some breathing room and not got stopped out.

Well JesseB. Your probably right, I have a couple of trades left and will probably have to stop trading a day or two so I can make more trades later. Probably why I don't post as much on here. I usually do 1 trade a day. But I stayed home sick today so I took advantage.

As for bounces. It's better to play technical intraday breakouts and breakdowns, bounces are risky.
  • when borrows get difficult i might actually get some sleep! but thats why u gotta learn to go long too
  • MTXR
I finished reading chap 14 today, what is going to happen when this gets blown up in popularity and borrows are gonna be really difficult?
  • Zykosis
I wonder how long it will be before nobody posts on that P/L thread on elitetrader once people start trusting real results from sites like covestor.
  • i hope u guys just join Covestor, make this strategy proud!
  • Oliver
maybe you should get something similar to covestor as well. i think plenty of people would love to present their profits, etc.

Jeff congrats on a great month!

Also, how are you guys making money on these bounces? To me that shit is risky and scary. Yeah, it might appear to be bouncing, but what if it immediately drops back off and you don't have time to sell it?

What is your strategy for doing such things without getting burned?
  • jesseb
Hey GabeC - if your account is so small, how do you plan to trade again tomorrow since you just made three day trades today?
  • Webster
Was in a meeting buy my FPP sale order executed at 5.05 - Made $220 on the secondary bounce this afternoon.
  • JeffMoates
It's 50/50 either way, but I felt like it had a really good chance of tanking given the negative momentum. It's just an inference off of Tim's strategy, but momentum is key to overnight trading.
  • GabeC
    Thanks Jeff,

No I decided not to. I know it has a really good chance of tanking tomorrow, but being the 3rd down day and my diminishing day trading power, I figured I'd just trade it tomorrow if anything.
  • JeffMoates
Nice Gabe, did you get back in FPP on the bounce?
  • GabeC
For the record I made $700 today with my tiny $6k account. buying and shorting fluffed up penny stocks.

    Bought SPF 3.03 Sold 3.48
Short FPP 5.33 Covered 5.10 (caught a bad fill shoulda been 5.02)
    Bought SPF 3.32 Sold 3.43

It was a good day. Love the new site, keep it up Tim.

Tried to short KYUS into the close but still no shares available.

Just went long on DIGA into the close. It's break above $.75 today on good volume should be a nice setup for a short term run.
  • Tdrag
Damn .. it would be nice to break the 25k mark.. I need to reach it 1st...

thx Tim for all your jedi-way...
