10 Stocks To Consider Short Selling, I’m On Fire So Pay Attention
HYGS
Alerted TIMalert subscribers that I shorted this at $2.29 in the morning, hoping for a gradual fade into negativity saying “i think if it takes out 2.28-2.25ish, it can go under $2”, DEAD ON, stock dropped to under $2 too quick for my comfort, I bailed for quick $250ish profit (detailed post coming)….woulda shorted into the afternoon fade (yes, that’s a perfect one), but I had no trades left, definitely reserve shares to short, pray it spikes again as this could really fall to sub-$1.80 if the setup is right, just gotta wait and see the price action
TGC
Also alrted TIMalert peeps to my horrific amateur mistake on this, shorted accidentally at $3.49, brings up VRML mistake of old, after being down 25 cents/share, covered for 5 cents into dip, which turned out to be a major crack below $3.20, missed out on a perfect afternoon fade of 50+ cents/share, damn thing stings like B…good news is TIMalert subscribers banked as alert was sent out at $3.60…(please post $ gains below)…good news is I expect possible further downside so reserve shares just in case pattern looks good
COIN
Another 15% dropper I highlighted as a potential short HERE, missed out totally with all my TGC/HYGS dealings…not enough trades allowed thanks Osama bin SEC, add some more $ to your terrorist tab! uhhhh, tell me some of u guys got in…now it’s probably too late to do much
EVOLUTION SOLAR CORPORATION (EVSO)
The potential next LBAS gradual riser? Probly not, but there does appear to be upside—more like IDEA…but guess the marketcap, it’s funny
LBAS
Speak of the probable fraud devil! It just keeps goin…on and on…..and on and on…til the break of 10
Genta Incorporated (GNTA)
Rising nicely, keep an eye on it, not shorting just yet…$23mil marketcap
Isolagen, Inc. (ILE)
C’mon big spike—yeah right, I’m dreamin’, $20mil piece of crap
Immunomedics, Inc. (IMMU)
C’mon big spike—yeah right, I’m dreamin’, $183mil and just as bathroom-worthy
Qimonda AG (ADR) (QI)
Billion dollar spiker….wish I had more buying power, reserve shares just in case it wants a sequel today
Morgans Hotel Group Co. (MHGC)
Rising due to buyback plan….oh Morgans, you make me laugh, like trying to save a sinking ship with a bucket….or like CNOA’s CEO buying shares at $1….whoops! Reserve shares and hope some idiots actually believe in the company over its horrific chart

Odd thing this AM. I NEVER get spam on any of my accounts, but I got three different overnights pumping sub-penny Harris Exploration (HXPN)… Anyone else get this?

Hey Tim
Whats your take on Eurogas EUGS???
If volume picks up, it seems like a potential short.
4Liberal?
July 3rd, 2008 at 9:29 am
For being listed as a liberal on your Facebook, I’m surprised that you hate the SEC as much as you do. Liberals want more government regulation and less power to the people…it seems that you would be all for the SEC and what it does to regulate.

Well, that was quick. Shorted 2000 shares @ $2.90 yesterday, and covered @ $2.29 today. $1,200 profit on the day, and made another $566 on the same stock yesterday. Thanks Tim! I’m signed up for the alerts via another email by the way.

I couldn’t cover HYGS yesterday because I was out of day trades. Covered this morning in premarket at 2.00 from 2.20. On 1000 shares thats about $180 something after commissions.

QBIK down a quick 3% in the morning…I’m surprised this wasn’t on Timmy’s watchlist.

nice Oracle, i tried shorting at 2.80, but was too busy changing my limit for it to get executed….just sent out this TIMalert as my trade was too quick to notify anyone (happens sometimes…that’s why u gotta understand the variables so u can do this yourself, not just rely on alerts):
when TGC just tanked at the market open, i tried shorting at 2.80, missing my execution by a hair…pissed but not out, i watched it tank all the way down to 2!!!! (yes morning panics can do that on these highfliers) so instead i looked to buy since i knew this was too quick/big a drop all based on stop losses (down 30% in 5 minutes on little volume??!?!i don’t think so!)…bought 2k at 2.15ish, sold em 2min later at 2.40ish…..great dip buy….u see if u understand the variables behind these moves, u can play the long AND short side!
stil a possible afternoon fader on this and HYGS, remember markets close at 1pm today

Gripe. Made 10% on QI on a 22% move. And I was too scared to put much money in the trade. $60 is still enough for gas money to go traveling this weekend.

ben TGc back up was the bounce @ 2.60 odds against it doing that again
27Liberal?
July 3rd, 2008 at 10:10 am
Haha what?! Liberals/gov’t is a sterotype??? The entire reason we have a two party system is because liberal democrats want more government and conservative republicans want less.
Every liberal wants to expand government! That’s why people are liberals, they want a central state to control the people with regulation and government intervention.

I think all this tanking in these smallcrap stocks is going to be a signal for a bottoming in the overall market.Need to put some long term retirement money to work.
31Liberal?

I don’t mean to bring up politics and I’ll stop after this, but it just surprised me that you would lean left after how much you have profited from the free market.

i agree with most liberal principles but i could give a shit about politics…so to stereotype me in what i should believe about the SEC, blehhh just writing this comment annoys me, trading is my government, anybody who interferes with it–like the SEC–is a terrorist
35balls...or just plain nuts...
July 3rd, 2008 at 10:23 am
The current political system is very black and white. For example, I consider myself conservative on most social issues, but I find Republicans just as much big gov’t as Democrats. None of them truly want to lose any control they now enjoy. My only choice is to vote for a third party candidate with no chance at winning…

Hey Gemini here is a penny stock for ya RUNU.
37be-the-ball(TIMBUCKS: $81)
July 3rd, 2008 at 10:27 am
Tim,
I don’t see how going long TGC into the dump this AM was a low risk play? You said it was down on low volume? those were the largest 2 volume bars on the 1 minute chart ever for the stock?
Trade worked for you but I don’t see that it was any more than a good guess. No indication it would bounce.

BTB, too funny, volume was caused by market orders and stop losses, u could see the 100k sell orders on the ask, chomping away at anything…i actually put in an order to buy with a limit 2.25, just got a better execution than i expected…really gotta understand these stocks better to know when the panic selling is setting in….morning dumps usually do have bounces afternoon ones dont

July 3rd, 2008 at 10:30 am
lets not talk politics it’ll create a mess of a blog.
what i learned today:
Don’t try to trade when people are talking to you bc you miss your entry points
Don’t get greedy w/ entry points bc you’ll miss them too. and when you know a bounce is coming, dont wait, get in on it.
worst trade ever, the one that was right in front of me that i didnt do anything about. made 0 lost 0

not criticizing you. you made money and that is the key.
just seems like a scalp. scalping pennystocks is not what I thought we were here for. In fact you criticize folks for just that on a regular basis.

BTB, normally i do preach against scalps, but when u see all the variables lined up there, its tough to say not to that easy quarter/share, possible 30-40 cents/share…since my profit was limited thats why it was such a small position though

HGC, i want a monday squeeze if possible, i dont like shorting real companies so i’ll risk missing it to wait for the last possible squeeze
