The Latest Round Of Paid Spam Mailers
Hmmm, somehow I thought my detailing these sketchy paid mailers a few weeks ago might put a stop to the whole revolting process. Not. You can’t stop stock promoters, you can’t stop corruption, hype or manipulation….all you can do is profit from its existence.
Behold the latest round of the worst publicly companies traded in the world (courtesy of THIS great lil message board)–buy carefully, don’t short randomly, as spam stocks as a sector have been on fire lately…can’t even mention the company tickers as you gotta see these flyers for yourselves.

hey, anyone still holding PTEK short? it’s been showing consistent weakness

Yea, I still have a short in it. I’m currently getting thumped in my TSL position. 1 day trade looks like it might be on hold for a week till I recover. As for PTEK, based on the charts it should touch 4 tomorrow. See it as the big sell day. Look at ROYL today. Broke 8 support and tanked 70 cents. When support gets taken out a lot of times the stock freefalls because of stop losses going off. Being stubborn in my ways cost me cash. Never go against the charts which I did. Luckily I exited SOLF with 9 cent loss yesterday learning my lesson. Tony had the right idea yesterday when he shorted SOLF after it broke support of 20. Both TSL and SOLF were perfect short plays. Oh well, live and let learn. Price of OIL blinded my judgement. One must think the contrarian way.

I’m finally done with all my meetings today. I’ll have another round tomorrow starting at 8AM! Boo, no trading for me tomorrow…
Trader@MIT, did you ever get out of SQNM? Afterhours looks like shit for shorts. Might be a good free faller tomorrow morning though.
Tim, DUH…I know the DVD is in my best interest. Thanks for pushing it on me. Ha…you’re a pusher. I don’t know why that’s funny…uhh, too many meetings.

On a low floater like AQQ, couldn’t everyone on a board like this domino it short to at least $30 tomorrow morning- then last man to cover’s a rotten egg?
6timothysykes
June 10th, 2008 at 9:56 pm
no evan cuz that would be markket manipulation. bad.
and AQQ hasnt proven itself to be a good short pattern…yet, i hope whoever is short gets squeezed, then it might be more ideal

OEDV,IB got shrs short.
I know alot of peeps don’t like shorting under a buck, but 50% is 50% no matter how you look at it imo.
Just sit back and watch for red on this “exploration and development” company.
NCEY CPRK CYPW were great example of under a buck shorts that had run up just in the last 2 days,i say if the spread is tight,”let’s dance”.

I agree that LAUD chart looks ridiculous, and I’ve seen you mention manipulated charts before that close everyday at the high… are you screening for those or do you pick them up on a percent gainer scan or something like that

13th…congrats dude, what a day! Yup, I did well with my VQ short yesterday and as soon as it quit dropping, I covered and took my profits quick. Today I went long early on CSY. I’ve been playing it conservatively until I get over that 25K wall…dumb rule for sure! Congrats to you once again!

Mike13th,
That is awesome. Not only have I learned a lot from Tim, but I’ve learned a lot from you as well. Keep up the good work in the chat room. Your prehit alerts are invaluable.
I also like your little tip about the UBB cutting through candle as a bullish signal. I’ve set up a Stockfetcher screen to find those.

hi bubba,
yes I come upon the manipulated ones because I run a scan “gained 8% in last 1 day” and “gained 15% in last 2 days” every night and if i see a symbol i don’t recognize i’ll go look at its chart.
That’s how i stumbled across LAUD.
If you’ve never seen these 2 charts just for fun you got to see them.
They are nuts.
MNCS beginning in 11/04 to 10/9/06 then the drop.
LBAS 10/07 to 11/29/07.
Talk about a death drop.
LBAS went from 5 that day to 2.60!
If i remember correctly that drop took about 10-15 mins!
And the next day it closed at 2.20 after hitting a lod of 1.30 and trading over a million shrs that day.
Now those 2 charts ARE bigtime manipulation.

eb,thanks
Have you seen supermans blog from last night.
He’s got his last 22 plays up there.
CSY 19%,nice
Smoke,
Thanks,PGOG i saw about 7 days ago and then had forgotten about it.
Thanks for reminding me,a definite watch.
seattle guy,
thanks, sure go ahead and ask novice questions, tha’s how i learned.
I trade about 14 years and basically stunk, then sought out Muddys advice and never looked back.
And as I said before, never shorted well at all until Tim turned on the lightbulb.
YngvaiMalmsteve,
thanks, yeah the late pre hits have been amazing me too, ever since I’ve been using the IB pre to scan.
It’s so easy to rank by latest hits with vol increasing.
My theory is West coasters have got to get up so early to scan pre that they miss the later hits until later after the open plus i think alot of folks get their pre data and then forget about the last 5-15 mins as they already have their lists on watch and figure nothing really happens the last few mins before open.
Then they see the runners for the day a little later and jump in ones we’ve already seen and been in right near the open from the late pre.
hottpotat0,
When i do find the LAUD type I really don’t care where i enter cause they always close at hod anyway.
But you gotta always have them on watch cause like MNCS LBAS and dozens of others, the death drop comes out of the blue.
Then as fast as you can try to flip to short.
IB and maybe other brokers have a special long/short tab for that kind of situation

Damnit, had CSY shorted nicely at 15.80 then panicked when it popped back up after dipping around 15.55 and covered too soon. would be sitting on a nice profit if i kept my cool. too worried that it would recover and jump another 3 dollars on the superman train.
