15 Low Priced Stocks: Buy & Short Sell Some, Avoid Most, Despise Them All!

Tags: Breakouts, Charts Rock!, Hot Stocks, Manipulation, Pattern Day Trader Rule, Potential Plays

First, let’s get the fun / useless guessing game contest over with—with YHOO’s $24.37 closing price, there were 2 winners: Ann-Nan Lo $24.50 and DarkMatter $24.24—congrats guys! (UPDATE: Ann-Nan Lo has been disqualified cuz her winning guess was her second…wow, my readers are on top of things!)

Now to business, stocks with predictable charts—doubt any of these topics will get 200+ comments, but gimme a few years to set you straight. Tons of plays, gonna be handicapped yet again by the SEC pattern day trading rule—all that handicapping inspired me to write one hell of a post, which I gotta vet with a lawyer…

VNDA
Yes its bounced, but its a ton off its highs and it’s an earnings play, still watching it, doubt I’ll have the buying power to touch it, f$#@ you SEC!

LGDI
My top play for today, made $350 ayer, look to make more if and when it cracks $4.40 to the downside, could / should move fast when it cracks as that’ll put it slightly down on the day, potential to go all the way down to $4, then it’s a game of whether or not stop losses can get taken out, $4.05-$4.10 if it holds, $3.60-$3.70 if it doesn’t…and this is all of course after the probable / hopeful morning short squeeze, which could / should retest highs, pleaseeeeeeee…game of chess baby, I don’t know how to play, only game I know is PennyStocking where you gotta think a few moves ahead!

SUNV
Kills me I didn’t short into yesterday’s spike, read my twitter message about it (Follow me on there to get quick messages like that), I was all set! That calls for my second f$#@ you to the SEC in as any minutes.

FEED
Lesson in why you don’t scalp these range bound suckers, use my friggin experience to your advantage you dumb Jews!

LLNW
Lionmaster pick, respek!

CHCG
Fous pick, check it!

PKT
You call that a runup, c’mon gimme some more, yo spliff where the weed at?

MVL
Sometimes the obvious stuff works, congrats longs, anybody seen the movie, c’mon gimme some reviews

IDMI
I will not short random penny stocks, I will not short random penny stocks, I will not short random penny stocks, I will not short random penny stocks, I will not short random penny stocks

MNKD
Everybody’s talkin’ all this stuff about this stock, why can’t they just focus on volatile stocks, tell me whyyy

GETC
Now that’s a stock worthy of me showing off its chart, still not up enough to short, shoulda coulda woulda had the balls to buy in

SKNY
Big big big reversal day, of what 7 cents? This is why you don’t short stocks low, too bad the price wasn’t multipled by 10, cuz then it coulda woulda shoulda actually gone down 50 cents tomorrow instead of the probable 5.

UTVG
Another worthy chart…getting close to resistance at $3

VRML
I saved my #2 pick for today near the bottom so those lazy mofos won’t see it and reserve shares to short…it’s not special, I don’t even need to refer to this company directly, I can just summarize by posting three tickers: REED, PSTI and VION…comprendo?

GTXO
Another up and comer to keep an eye on

Vodafone inks deal with Apple to sell iPhone in ten countries

Vodafone, the world’s largest mobile phone company in dollar sales, announced Tuesday that it has reached an agreement with Apple to sell the iPhone in ten of its markets beginning sometime this year.

Certainly not a penny stock, but this is a great stock to own

I don’t know why you’re all getting so excited about shorting VRML, this thing could spike to $6 or $7 or even $10, squeezing early shorts like u for the fun of it–remember, don’t short until u see the white of their eyes, otherwise you’re just shorting into random strong penny stocks, i write to protect u…memorize these 2 articles damnit!

I own 100 AAPL at a dca of $138… Should have been $119, but I showed a total lack of discipline and tried to scalp.. AAPL will be back at $200 or higher by year end..

    May 6th, 2008 at 10:56 am

I have never executed a short sell but I’m sick of losing $ all the time. I seem to be pretty good at picking losers so I want to try shorting. I just set up a margin account and am eyeballing both COMS and CPST. Do any experienced short sellers think these are solid choices?

  16. 66Jeff C

    May 6th, 2008 at 10:56 am

Hope someone made $ on GETC…nice pick Tim

  26. 76Bob the VC

    May 6th, 2008 at 11:09 am

Never got in to VRML at 4.25, just said I was thinking about it.. Luckily that Chicken part of my kicked in. I’m almost afraid of this thing with my limit set at $6.. I think if I blink it may trigger..

That sucks on the false execution Tim, hopefully they fix that for you..

  27. 77Tony Ellis

    May 6th, 2008 at 11:14 am

  35. 85A

    May 6th, 2008 at 11:24 am

  36. 86simonyadig

    May 6th, 2008 at 11:25 am

OTCBB = over the counter bulletin board

    http://www.investopedia.com/terms/o/otcbb.asp

  37. 87Bob the VC

    May 6th, 2008 at 11:25 am

VM at 3.34? Considering it only dropped about 50 cents after yesterday’s earnings, I’m not sure I’d expect much from it. Maybe 10-20 cents on a afternoon fade?

  38. 88Bob the VC

    May 6th, 2008 at 11:26 am

    I can’t believe this $hitbag VRML may hit $5..

  39. 89Shthappns

    May 6th, 2008 at 11:26 am

Noob - OTCBB is the Over The Counter Bulletin Board. Its basically an exchange for stocks that do not qualify for Nasdaq

  40. 90Bob the VC

    May 6th, 2008 at 11:27 am

    Correction- hit $5..

Damn, I’m earning my Timbucks today..

  41. 91Bob the VC

    May 6th, 2008 at 11:30 am

I seriously hope VRML finds unbreakable resistance at $5 and fades into oblivion..

  42. 92Bob the VC

    May 6th, 2008 at 11:36 am

To try to make light of Tim’s dilemma, I’m coining a new term.. Tim just “kicked the fan” on this on.. All you WSW watchers know what I’m talking about…

  43. 93Webster

    May 6th, 2008 at 11:36 am

I had TDA, cannot get any VRML to short right now at 5. Says not able to short.

  44. 94Short

    May 6th, 2008 at 11:37 am

I’m not shorting VM for intraday play. I’m looking at a slightly longer term of 2 - 5 days. This is truly POS stock. I see some resistance at 3.38. If it breaks down at this level, then it will surely tank.

  45. 95Bob the VC

    May 6th, 2008 at 11:38 am

Be carefull what you say Short, Richard Branson may fly his space ship to you house and beat you down!! LOL

  46. 96timothysykes

    May 6th, 2008 at 11:38 am

Thinkorswim can’t do anything about my screw up so I added 1,000 short at $4.90, now short 2,500 average $4.34, by far one of the stupid mistakes of my career, if not $-wise…gonna be interesting

ore interesting/safe is ASIA breaking out, not that I have any buying power whatsoever

  47. 97ivegotstylekid

    May 6th, 2008 at 11:39 am

wow timmy sorry to hear about that, hope that fucker drops real quick, vrml is starting to fade down .20 of its high

  48. 98timothysykes

    May 6th, 2008 at 11:40 am

we all make mistakes, just a part of the game

  49. 99ivegotstylekid

    May 6th, 2008 at 11:44 am

man this fucker is starting to look like a quick buy and out

  50. 100J-Mo

    May 6th, 2008 at 11:45 am

Tim, I know PAL is a commodities play and you steer away from those, but for 2 days now it’s been trading sideways. Where do you see it going from a trend point of view?
