    Hey Tim,
Is CRXL a good short play from these heights?

    April 9th, 2008 at 9:03 am

short PSTI as of yesterday afternoon, this thing is going to drop to around 3.30-3.40 range, I am doubting my entry point due to the fact that I think this thing is going to spike early morning, made money on this thing yesterday and missed out on a little profit so foolishly entered and it jumped .10 on me going into the close. Should have waited, but this thing could tank first, lets hope no SPIKE.

That is what I should be waiting for, stupid move yesterday, but I will add to my position if this thing spikes.

    Tim,
with titn would wait for a spike to around 22 and look to short once you saw some weakness

Got shares of PSTI reserved at TOS- looks like it’s spiking a bit- Tim, does TOS have a place where I can see the orders about to come through, like Level II? I should know already, but I’m still using TDAmeritrade and haven’t gotten to explore TOS in-depth yet

    Tim, Evan,
How to reserve shares to short? Do you have to call or you can do it online? Can it be done only at TOS or any other broker allow to reserve shares to short? Thanks for your info.

upper left hand side of your downloaded desktop software has a button called support/chat- chat with anyone about reserving shares. You’ll find some are more helpful than others.

    April 9th, 2008 at 9:42 am

why does tdamderitrade suck so much and not allow a short on PSTI??

  13. 13timsykes

    April 9th, 2008 at 9:45 am

short 1000 PSTI at 5, big block sells coming in taking out the 14k buy block at $5, very very nice

  14. 14Evan

    April 9th, 2008 at 9:51 am

Tim - u suck. I don’t want to hear anymore about your timing being bad- I had an order in with my 1000 shares at 5.05- missed it by FIVE SSEEECCCOONDS!!! Enjoy the $200 plus in about Five seconds! CCRRAAAPPP!!!

  15. 15timsykes

    April 9th, 2008 at 9:55 am

timing isnt bad on this one, there was a clear big buy order at 5 to short into, u should never have entered it at 5.05…and this isnt $200, right now i’m up $350 so far, but i want $500+ on this thing

PSTI is up from Monday’s trading and had a gap up opening on Tuesday. PSTI is now crossing the 50 day MA on the 5 day chart with low volume. PSTI should be a nice scalp.
Not sure about NCEN. It’s similar to PSTI however, it has greater volume. This stock is just as likely to go up as it is to go down.
Of the two I would short PSTI.

  17. 17t-digg

    April 9th, 2008 at 9:57 am

That PSTI spike had me on the edge TTIM, lets see this thing break through the 4.30 mark and 4.00 here we come. TIM you are right they are predictable

    April 9th, 2008 at 9:59 am

Is CRY looking to breakout to th upside at 10.26?

  19. 19timsykes

    April 9th, 2008 at 10:01 am

LOL Tom 50 day moving avergae on PSTI, i just look at them like see saws, too much time up, time to go down….and no shares of NCEN so PSTI is my only play!

tdigg–of course they’re predictable, why do u think i get so angry when people try to say this is all in my head…the power of the internet, i’m gonna make sure every single damn person int he world knows about this game

    April 9th, 2008 at 10:03 am

out at $4.65, too many meetings today to watch this thing, might reshort in the afternoon

  21. 21Evan

    April 9th, 2008 at 10:04 am

Tim, my CRXL was also a good call, but was focused on my 5.05 PSTI short- my question for you is this- do you condone heavy drinking before 10:30am?

  22. 22Joseph

    April 9th, 2008 at 10:04 am

    Take your profits, Tim.

  23. 23Joseph

    April 9th, 2008 at 10:06 am

Nice! Is it me or do you always use “meetings” as an excuse to get out quick lol. Nice play, Tim!

  24. 24timsykes

    April 9th, 2008 at 10:12 am

haha nah meetings are real, publishing is my main biz and just wait til u see some of the projects i’m workin on….no problem with taking 7% profits within 30 minutes…trade was very scalable, coulda been done with 5-10x the size and 20-50x the size if u’re willing to have patience.

  25. 25Keith E

    April 9th, 2008 at 10:15 am

Is the breakout on cry going to be real or a fakeout?

    April 9th, 2008 at 10:15 am

    April 9th, 2008 at 10:20 am

Wow TIM. If you didn’t have such a quick trigger finger, you could have made over $600 in less than an hour. 1000 shares *(5.00-4.38)=$620. Not too bad for an hours work! LOL!

  29. 29Joe

    April 9th, 2008 at 10:27 am

UFPT jumped up like you predicted Tim

Anyone watching the post earnings breakdown on LAYN??

  31. 31Keith E

    April 9th, 2008 at 10:28 am

Looks like it might be a fakeout on CRY because of no volume. Would possiply look to short into this breakout or wait and see?

NCEN, TITN, PSTI did well today…. damn but I had all my money shorting GU… I have some kind of love affair with GU

    April 9th, 2008 at 10:50 am

So Tim, if you buy your dvds do you learn where you find these stocks and a consistent basis? And.. How often do you have a problem getting shares to short? Love your blog. Good job.

    April 9th, 2008 at 10:53 am

COT is down today, would it be a good short if it finally breaks past the 3.20s?

  35. 35lmsmith

    April 9th, 2008 at 10:53 am

The game came be played two ways as well…. picked up 1k shares at 4.40 — will sell soon.

How is everyone conifgured on TOS to view level 2 access, ie blocks of shares. My old broker was self-explanatory. If it’s in the forums I can’t locate it.

  37. 37GSC

    April 9th, 2008 at 10:57 am

Just FYI-with regards to AMTD, you can short sell it if they have the shares available to lend out.
In this case they don’t have anything available.
You should always keep 2-3 accounts open, AMTD,IBR,TOS is a pretty good combo to cover your bases if you are looking to short sell.
CHeck out WM, one of the most obvious short trades out there.
It might take some time for it to come down to the position it should be at, but eventually it will get there.

Would you agree Penny Stocks are not weighed down or propped up so much by market benchmarks like the DOW?

  39. 39Andrew

    April 9th, 2008 at 11:13 am

I’m all for shorting cott below 3.2-3.25. It’s shown really solid strength at that level so if it cracks, could be a pretty big move. Anyone in NCEN?

  40. 40Max

    April 9th, 2008 at 11:24 am

‘Would you agree Penny Stocks are not weighed down or propped up so much by market benchmarks like the DOW?’

I’d have to say that’s the biggest reason I’ve been focusing on these types of stocks lately; they are rarely significantly correlated with the market as a whole.

However, the patterns that Tim looks for can morph somewhat depending on overall market conditions. I believe this is something he discusses in his DVD.

  41. 41Keith E

    April 9th, 2008 at 11:34 am

I have noticed that when th overall markets are weak and not much action then there tends to be more action and manipulation in the shit stocks and presents more opportunity for us little guys.

  42. 42lmsmith

    April 9th, 2008 at 11:37 am

psti- looks like it going down futher….. Out this

  43. 43samd

    April 9th, 2008 at 11:50 am

I think even in a Bull market shorting on spikes with these type of stocks on BULLSHIP news (I like that TIm word) is just as effective.

  44. 44timsykes

    April 9th, 2008 at 12:10 pm

mr cellular, yes, the DVD package teaches you how to think about these stocks and all the variables involved, its not just about entries and exits cuz the patterns evolve, gotta understand what causes these patterns

UFPT, yeah but its a weird breakout and i gotta conserve my day trades

COt will be good ONLY when it breaks $3.25, so far can’t even take out $3.30

lmsmith–yes u can go long these suckers on dips too, works well with short sellers who refuse to take quick profits

some penny stock are influenced by the overall market more than others…good news is most of them arent

PSTI turned out to be a good cover, gotta watch out for these thin stocks…sure i coulda waited 10 minutes and made an extra $150, but hindsight is easy…if i’d waited til the buyers came in above support, i’d now be down $100 from my exit…key is waiting for big blocks to get taken out…that would mean$4.30 and that wont be easy…today at least

    April 9th, 2008 at 12:59 pm

Take a look at GBRC, up 25% plus on some news story done on French television… Sure to fall from the sky…

  46. 46BenBien

    April 9th, 2008 at 1:46 pm

    You’re going to short everything.
