Taylor Devices Inc. (TAYD) is THE smallcap earthquake stock that will surely benefit from the Haiti earthquake…it really spiked during the Asian tsunami, hasn’t really jumped much the past few world disasters, potential short if it does spike too much.
Imaging3 Inc. (IMGG) fell off a multi-week cliff in the 70 cent/share range when the company admitted any FDA response is gonna take longer…great, great chart pattern (picture afternoon sideways action, but this is on its daily chart)…I put in my order to short 3,000 shares with a limit of 60 cents/share at IB in hopes of getting some type of position..lo and behold I got 1,000 executed at 64 cents/share, I only got the email after the market close…cool, conference call after the market close was uneventful, CEO making excuses…maybe it spikes a bit, but if this cliff dive is real and holds, this stock is up from 3 cents/share and could easily plummet 50%+…small position limits my risk
Origin Agritech Limited (SEED) was extremely choppy all throughout the day, no thank you at all…as I preach in my DVDs, I hate choppy stocks, no set pattern, this stock is off my watchlist due to the way it trades…TIMalert subscribers learned some valuable lessons not wining big either long or short on this one.
China Direct Industries, Inc. (CDII) spiked from the low 2s to 2.65ish on news of existing and new contracts with Fortune 500 companies…perfectly fluffy news, but it squeezed short sellers out of the blue who thought they had it made with a solid chart pattern to short….scary, but news is unpredictable, glad Lionmaster scared me away from shorting…no play as this stock is also choppy like SEED and really could go either way…very sad he shut down his site the very hour of his greatest victory…(understand I will never shut down my site nobody who attacks me because I’m a grown up and can take haters)
Luna Innovations Incorporated (LUNA) spiked from the high 3s to the high 4s on news of emerging out of bankruptcy, one of the catalysts I wrote about in my weekend post…tomorrow or the next day we should hear about the NASDAQ reinstituting them since their stock is over $4/share…another catalyst I wrote about, but I’m not buying, I don’t like trying to buy based on news…chart is just plain scary now, no play for me.
Alkane, Inc. (ALKN) dropped nearly 50% on the day, the pump turned into the perfect dump…stop losses didn’t protect anyone (stock promoters will tell you to protect yourself with stop losses, they are dangerous liars)…great lesson here, no play now.
Pacific Ethanol, Inc. (PEIX) I thought were have a big down day, but I was deadwrong and wisely added to my initial 2.17 short at 2.47 and 2.55 to get my average up to 2.35…when it couldn’t crack into negative territory on the day I covered for puny gains of $250ish…good to cover when a stock holds a support level…probable morning spike tomorrow, followed by big possible short squeeze or fading…potential short once it cracks 2.20ish support.
