Mercer International Inc. (MERC) I was looking for a breakout above its Mid-August previous highs in the $3.25 range…I jumped the gun a bit, buying 3,000 at $3.20, but it had already taken out weak hands in the morning, the overall market and paper stocks like Clearwater Paper Corp. (CLW) and International Paper Co (IP) were strong, but with a solid close at $3.46, methinks this goes to $4, especially, the only other point on the chart where there’s technical resistance (minor, the main resistance is at $6)…remember, this is a deeply indebted distressed $125 million company that does 5x that number in sales…any hint of a turnaround spikes this back to the teens…I read their financials and listened to their call, it’s ugly, but a technical breakout is often enough to get the ball rolling because it makes lenders feel better and more open to giving better terms…all I want is $4 and I’m out today or tomorrow, gotta see if it can hold this breakout and build on it
Polymet Mining Corp. (PLM) and Alexco Resource Corporation (AXU) are two metal stocks with the EXACT same pattern, both are potential breakouts above May highs, both in the $2 range…PLM had first crack at it on Friday and surged a nice 20% mid-day (I was watching but hesitated (I hate the church for having me castrated as a young choir boy…watch TIMfundamentals DVD or you won’t get my analogy at all and to you I apologize), but it ultimately failed late day…AXU is a boring real company that has already spiked 3 days in a row so unless gold really breaks $1,000 convincingly, I’ll be looking to buy, but not too hard as I understand a pullback before any great move higher is likely.

Bergamo Acquisition Corp (BGMO) is the now $30 million company that announced a $1 billion investment into the Pakistani energy sector…doesn’t get much sketchier than Pakistani energy, so sketchy that this company doesn’t even show up on BigCharts.com…30 cents to $1/share so far, this is a definite potential short, I hope they announce a $2 billion deal this coming week! (Life is fun when numbers lose their meaning, hey, if I was BGMO, I would say I just sold $1 billion worth of my instructional DVDs, now, wouldn’t that be nice?)
Energy XXI (Bermuda) Limited (EXXI) jumped from 80 cents/share to $1.45 Friday on good earnings…nice uptrend all day, potential buy as this could represent the beginning of a comeback for this distressed company

GetFugu, Inc. (GFGU) is in bed with Spongetech Delivery Systems, Inc. (SPNG) and the stock promoters have pushed this stock up from 75 cents/share to $1.25/share in 3 days to make the company look good ahead of its Tuesday product release…alleged technology to revolutionize web browsing on mobile phones, zzzzzzz, penny stock liars are beginning to bore me…at least say you’ve invented something where you don’t even need phones, just press a button and a person will be teleported to the room where the person they want to talk to is…seriously…do you get my sarcasm…do you see te pattern yet? ALL PENNY STOCKS LIE, ESPECIALLY PENNY STOCK PROMOTERS…God bless ‘em for it as this will be a great short (yes, buying is an option, but we never know when the promoters will dump shares…and yes, despite its gains last week, you better believe promoters were selling into their pumping, that’s how pump & dumps work! (The gullible will try to analyze the technology and its potential, I don’t need to waste my time, it’s the equivalent of analyzing unicorn herding patterns, searching for the Holy Grail, finding the island on which Tupac, Michael Jackson and Biggie live reaping the rewards of tremendous sales due to their faked deaths…don’t give into fantasy)…expect more PRs tomorrow and Tuesday, but volume has already begun to fade, so this could be a nice short very soon.
RODM I bought 4,000 at $4.65 and expect to sell in the low to mid $5s today or tomorrow…nice predictable breakout, nice gain so far…see my entire analysis/reasoning
