That’s why I send pre-market watchlists to my TIMalert subscribers the night before trading starts…I sent these 2 preparatory paragraph about Georgia Gulf Corporation (GGC) the past few days (before its latest runup):
On 7/31:
GGC jumped $8 to $20ish yesterday by noon on a better financial situation….this can actually keep going even though it consolidated back to $15ish…I’ll actually buy if and when this breaks out again past $20…shorts are scared!
On 8/2:
GGC kept surging, up $2 to $18ish…I will buy this if it can consolidate in the high teens and eventually breakout past key psychological level $20…if it does break that level will strong volume and ideally a catalyst (analyst upgrade?)…could be a very nice short squeeze to $22+ if and when that does happen
Look how the stock performed on 8/2 and focus on how it acted at $20/share:
Waaaaay too fast of a runup for any alert (and I was traveling back to NYC as it happened anyway…yes, I will continue missing some great trades, but my goal is to prepare my TIMalert subscribers ahead of time so they don’t need me anymore!), the key to success on this trade is preparation!
