CHINA I’m down 5 cents/share, or $200ish thanks to my own stubbornness/inability to follow my trading rules about exiting positions when they don’t go my way…to my credit, this is in my longterm account, whose goals and risks differe slightly from my core trading strategy…the stock looks like it wanted to fade, but the overall strong market obviously helped squeeze some shorts…I might be forced to cover today, but I’ll try to hold as long as possible to give the best possible chance at fading, but the longer it stays over important $2.70 support, the more uncomfortable I feel…congrats to the TIMalert subscribers who correctly exited early yesterday morning for small profits when the stock showed it couldn’t break below $2.65, thus negating any hcance at a morning panic…gotta stick to the rules to enjoy the best odds of success…I still am not perfectly disciplined…which is pathetic.
SRLS had decent earnings so the stock jumped from $1.70 to close at $2.30ish yesterday…but it was really nothing more than a morning spike followed by day-long fading…potential buy, but I probly won’t touch it unless the volume is remarkable
Zagg Inc. (ZAGG) reports earnings today, it really could go either way…potential buy on any strong buying volume which will probly lead to a breakout or at least a retest of the old highs in the high $7s or a long-time-coming-type breakdown if the earnings prove to be hyped-up, technical support at $6…this is my #1 stock to watch today
Gulfport Energy Corporation (GPOR) is a multi-month breakout above $7.50, now at $7.75…this is a decently-fundamentalled energy play, no real technical resistance until $9ish…so there’s a little upside, but it also moves slow…potential buy, but only in my longterm account which you can auto-trade by subscribing HERE
TVL just keeps going…now its getting too steep, I might look to short a bit into any excess strength…risky
The McClatchy Company (MNI) is a potential short as every previous spike has come all the way back down…this most recent spike has been from 50 cents/share to $2.75ish…now down to $2, its at key support…either healthy consolidation or it’ll follow the pattern of the past.
ZOOM was a great morning spiker which I correctly called a potential buy yesterday…TIMalert subscribers baaaaanked buying into that morning spike…too risky/illiquid for me
Vion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (VION) has now spiked from $2 to $3.75 in 2 days and every times its ever spiked has been a good short….BUT this time there’ll be a conference call today for earnings from the other day (2 days delay???!?!) and they’re presenting to the FDA on Sept 1…potential short, but I’m just watching for now
Caribou Coffee Company, Inc. (CBOU) is technically a breakout here above $7, but like DDRX when it tried to breakout, the price action is very choppy and methinks unless we get a true short squeeze, it’s not a breakout worth buying…understand?
CryoLife, Inc. (CRY) got late day FDA approval and surged 30% to the high $6s…I’m not touching it, I don’t like news plays…wait a few days to see what pattern develops
