Yes, Covestor Now Allows You To Auto-Trade My Stock Trades!

Posted by Timothy Sykes on Wed 22nd of Jul, 2009 03:00:08 PM

You guys have been asking me for a while so here it is–you can now pony up some money to never again have to watch the market closely as your account will now have the ability to auto-trade my trades by subscribing HERE!

Make no mistake: this thing is revolutionary and Covestor is gonna reap all the benefits, but this will only work with my long-term trading account in which I hold stocks for a few days/weeks, not my bread & butter 1-2 day holding period trading strategy that’s up 420%+ in the last 22 months (due to reserving shares ahead of time, TIMalerts & scalability issues)

This is why I started a $50,000 longer term account with Interactive Brokers on May 1st, 2009 and that account is up to $53,038 after 2.5 months…those are kinds of 6% in 3 months, aka decent but unspectacular, returns that my longer term trading strategy should yield (of course past performance is not indicative of future returns LOL and I am in no way shape or form a registered financial advisor)

TechCrunch has already displayed the kind of financial knowledge most tech people have with THIS post, mistakenly believing “the top amateur investors” are far worse than “the top professional investors” (I made them aware of the fact that not one of the 10,000 stock mutual funds was up last year even though dozens of “amateurs” such as myself baaaaanked last year as verified by Covestor HERE)

Today we are proud to announce the public launch of Covestor Investment Management (CVIM).

CVIM has developed the world’s first retail Multi Managed account or MMA. With an MMA you can invest directly alongside professional and retail investors, managing their own money in their own account. It is a new category of Investment product that gives you access to expert managers like a hedge fund with the security and transparency of a managed account.

CVIM licenses real time trading data from a large number of active investors and using this data creates a model of each. When you open an MMA you are given access to the models of these investors that you can subscribe to. Once you have decided which models best suit you they are auto traded for you in real time in your own managed account. Just like with an online brokerage account, CVIM then gives you a transparent view into your positions, transactions and performance per model in your MMA. An MMA is like putting you in control of your own fund of funds.

The CVIM platform is an open one for investment talent. For the past two years, Covestor.com has become the destination for investors to share their portfolios and build a verified investment record. CVIM takes this to the next level, recruiting model managers from Covestor.com and beyond, to offer you unbiased access to the models of a diverse set of investors. They are vetted investors, doing it with their own money in it together with you.

At Covestor we have always believed that this is how Investment Management should be done, open, honest, accessible and fair. No Wall Street conflicts of interest, no jargon, no middle men and no hidden fees. It levels the playing field for money management and puts you back in control. The platform combines proprietary software with institutional back office systems to deliver a secure, reliable and compliant experience.

The team has been working to build CVIM for the best part of three years and this post is in large part a tribute to their hard work. To find out more visit the new CV.IM website. We look forward to welcoming you as a client.

So far all you lazy/greedy people out there, this seems to be for you…targeting those demographics, Covestor is the next McDonalds.

Just spoke to some covestor representative. The $300 is only if you want real time data on the subscription model.

Also, for Tim's model, because Tim has indicated to covestor that he might day-trade, the requirement is that I have to fund the covestor-linked brokerage account with $30,000, although I can allocate just the minimum $5000 for subscribing to Tim's model.

Tim this is great! Are you charging 1.5% per annum to subscribe to your long term model?

Seems covestor also requires data fees at $300 per year? https://cv.im/pricing-and-fees

Edit: Yes to first question. No to second. See my comment below.

Tim, just wanted to comment on using Disqus. Frankly, I like Intense Debate way more because of their tie in with Wordpress. It is far superior in regards to SEO and integration/syncing using a Wordpress site.

As a fan of yours I was disappointed to see you go with it. I visit this site, Paul Kedrosky, and Breitbart everyday for news/commentary. You are the only one of those not using Intense Debate, so it's a bit disappointing.

    Just my opinion.
