FRPT lost 40% after losing a billion dollar Army contract…these guys have been hurting for years, this is the nail in the coffin, potential short, although I don’t like shorting stocks down 40%, I short into strong stocks that are fading…just watching for now.
ISRL offered shorts a better exit yesterday morning at $100, but later jumped higher to the $110+ area and all the way back to $118 by the afternoon…this is what I’m talking about with thinly traded stocks, gotta take profits when I can since just a few scared shorts can create big spikes…I’m not even watching this anymore, it’s not liquid enough and the predictable profit taking has come and gone, next!
AVNR has now dropped from $2.50 to $1.75 since I said the chart had gone too vertical, ‘twas a nice call and I’m glad dozens of TIMalert subscribers profited, but I hesitated and missed it, it happens…great lesson learned, sometimes I gotta be more aggressive on acting, but then again, that’s why I write a newsletter where action isn’t required, it’s all about sharing good trading ideas with which subscribers can do what they want…so even though I’m not the best trader, this kind of call shows why I’m damn good at my newsletter job, next!
KIRK I shorted 1500 shares at $11.53 because it was right near support in the afternoon on the first down day of a strong stock, up most recently due to their add to the Russell 3000 index…yah, it was a nice setup, the key being it had to take out $11.50 support, which it’d previously failed to do the past 3 tries over 2 days…success so far, lots of TIMalert subscribers took quick profits of several thousand dollars, I held overnight with my goal os covering into a possible morning panic/stop losses getting taken out if it touches $11…no support until the mid $10s, so it’s a waiting game to see how it acts at $11, great risk-reward no matter how it plays out
