Thanks for answering guys, yes, the main thing is I'm doing it conservatively this time around as there's no way I'd ever recommend going all in now...obvioulsy times are different today too, perfect plays every 2-4 days, before there were 4-6 PER DAY! Read my book and see all the trade http://www.test.timothysykes.com/book

You have to remember there was no patern day trading rule to limit your day trade when your account is less then 25k. He also was trading full time not part time. The biggest factor is that he made most of it in one of the greatest bull markets ever before the dot com bust.

Perhaps I am premature in submitting this comment, but I don't think Tim can answer this question in an honest, logical manner.

Tim, surprise me baby!

I think the way he did it, was take the 12k, put it all on one good trade, double it to 24k, put 24k or close into another good trade, make at least 20 - 100% on that trade, and so on and so on. By the time he got to 100k, he may have started trading with only 50%, but he did mention he went all out most of the time. Many people back in those days were able to gather a fortune this way.

What I would really like to see him do just for fun, and maybe make it a video out of it, is to actually play 50k on one good break out trade that he is 99% sure is a winner. Now I bet everyone would want to see something like that. I bet with the right research he could make 20k+ in a matter of hours.

Charles, it's called compound interest. In his first year, Tim was up approximately 250%. Since he started with $12415, he needs to make 1000000/12415 = 80.54x his principal. At 250%, the equation for how many years this would take is:

80.45 = 2.5^n. Solving for n, you get 4.78years.
