A Review Of My Swine Flu Trades, Made A Thousand Bucks But Mostly Screwed It Up!

Posted by Timothy Sykes on Wed 6th of May, 2009 03:00:56 PM

The trades and new TIMalert subscribers needing guidance have been coming in hot and heavy lately and I’ve had very little time to actually sit back and reflect, so I’m doing that here now:

Even though I screwed up on misguided swine flu stock BCRX biiiigtime on April 30th, as I detailed HERE, I kept shorting it each time it looked like it was going to rollover, which was many, thinking it’d fade nicely like competitor NVAX did:

But as you can see BCRX held up, amazingly, while NVAX tanked 50%…so while I got squeezed from $3.70 to $4.25 in the middle of the chart (I was wrong short-term, and stubborn, but I took my losses quickly in order to limit my losses), I also traded it 3 other times successfully–for 20-30 cents/share each time (register for TIMalerts or look at the right hand side of my site for actual trades) and ended up making a whopping $1,000 or so from this ideal trading opportunity.

I earned 9% in April Pathetic.

But I’m glad that while some TIMalert subscribers lost, many, many, many, many more subscribers banked by following the rules of shorting after sideways price action outlined in my instructional DVD packages:

Thanks Tim, Got out of BCRX at 3.62 – for $330 gain. Thanks TIM I held on longer than I should have and it was probably not the disciplined thing to do. But a Win is a Win.

Tim, went short BCRX (after you covered) much more resistance around 4.1-4.15. Unfortunately I left a bit on the table as I could not change my BC limit order- can’t complain though, still took $100 out of it. Made $$$ 3x on BCRX this week! http://chart.ly/akgfwy

First full week since becoming an annual subscriber, took profits everyday from multiple stocks, most notably BCRX which I traded 4/5 sessions! Took over $800 out of the market this week! $197 for an annual subscription, talk about an easy ROI!

I got in BCRX yesterday @ 4.20 (it was rising as your alert came, and when it couldnt break past 4.25ish, i shorted – as i agreed with your analysis)…Didnt have any day trades left to exit my position (risky…but entry was good enough to take on risk). Exited this morning into the panic @ 3.49 Played out exactly as you describe in both DVDs and Alerts. Thanks again for the great trade.
