Your first book was very popular, are you writing a second one in 2009 or 2010?

    - Richard

  • lmsmith

    Well said Tim

  • timsykes

haha i’m actually writing 2 books, who knows when i’ll be done, soooooo many projects on the table

  • timsykes

i forgot who but somebody here shorted STEN, great job, up 10% in a few hours, the student becomes the teacher!

  • timsykes

and somebody picked XIDE earlier too, great job guys!

  • Tony Ellis

FEED looks interesting if it closes over 12.

  • Andrew

I know it moves slower than the loser of me racing a turtle in athletic world (http://reviews.cnet.com/games/athletic-world-nes/4505-9995_7-30965521.html) but CPST broke 2 and I think its on its way up. Today or tomorrow, 1000 share buy + 10-20 cent gain up = nice profit. What do you think?

  • Andrew

Also, it already has a 55% short percentage but check out the head and shoulders on VCGH

  • timsykes

careful with FEED, even though its close/looks like a breakout, it has a horrible history of multi-day runups/gap ups

cpst looks good but the moves just aren’t enough for me

vcgh is a normal stock, avoid

21 years old, commute to college but looking to stick it to the man a bit. Favorite philosopher? I’m a Nietszche guy myself. I don’t follow many of your picks to the T but the big ones that get talked about most here (such as STEN, IDMI, DARA) I do play.

  • http://www.yourtradingstock.com Mike

Take a peek at THLD. Recent volume spikes and activity today.

  • Ken

    Tim,
Your strategy is great and I am following it, will buy your DVD soon…just waiting to make enough money in the market to afford your DVD. My question is this: Since the market is downtrending, how about if I short ETFs like KRE, UYG, XLF or buy SDS, DOG etc. overnight besides following your strategies? In a downtrend market, you probably won’t lose anything by parking your money on some stupid ETFs.

  • timsykes

i know nothing about ETFs, then u’re just playing market guessing games like everyone else. for me its only pattern based trades or my awesome mutual fund PRPFX

  • sammytwoshoes

    How about TIBX?

  • timsykes

tibx, horrrrrrrrrible chart, i’m just curious what do u see in it? either ong or short, i see nothing but randomness

  • Stan

wow tim that is a pretty good mutual fund! esp in bear markets 01-02 and now still making solid returns other mutual funds would be happy with even in bull markets.

im so confused on what to trade now, bout that time when i have no confidence in anything but the pressure is still on to make money, however im picking up small losses in the meantime. what do you do in times like this tim?

  • timsykes

don’t pressure yourself to make money in the markets–ever–forcing trades is when u lose. nothing looks perfect now anyway, wait for COIN to blow out its top and then short

  • http://theproficientinvestor.com James Wilcox

Nice article Tim, I also liked the article you wrote on AOL today detailing all those POS stocks you don’t want to touch with a ten foot pole. You didn’t mention RMKR though as I was hoping but it’s a dog anyway.

  • http://www.glguideservice.com Jeff C

Can someone post a link to the AOL article….I’m lazy, I know…

  • Graham

I wish you had your own stock Tim, because I would love to invest in your growth. You crank out 2 blogs a day sometimes even on weekends. I commend you for your spirit and determination, and have enjoyed readying your blogs (I’m a total stocks noob).

and thanks for the compliment graham, maybe TIM should IPO… i know a lot about pumps!

    Tim

Should we short CSIQ again, isnt that your garbage pick?

  • Evan

    Tim,

If you ever become an IPO, I’d have to stay long- I don’t have the heart to short you after all you’ve done for us. Unless of course you spike for three days straight for more than 500%- then yeah…I’d short the sh%@ outta you!

  • timsykes

i have nothing against csiq, at least no more than any other crap company. i def. wouldn’t short it, its put in a solid base

    evan–exactly

  • http://www.glguideservice.com Jeff C

Thanks for the link Tim…great interview the other day by the way…and if you have a link to coinmaster’s blog we can go on and pump all over his site! Keep up the great work!

Ironically, I’m not officially a “dinosaur” by your designations.

Being a “dinosaur” is more a mental thing than a number.

I’ll second that call on prpfx. “All through time, people have basically acted and reacted the same way in the market as a result of: greed, fear, ignorance, and hope. That is why the numerical formations and patterns recur on a constant basis.” JLL

The market is refreshing itself as the Japanese would say. There will be new players to go long on or existing companies will reinvent themselves like Apple did.

  • Tony Ellis

MXFD chart reminds me of COIN.

  • Tony Ellis

MXFD chart reminds me of COIN. WHat you think?

  • Joe

MXFD is a scam, same guys as RSPG and RRPH – check out KYUS too that’s their other baby after RVNG this time they walk them up slower Maxwell is the IR firm

MXFD has no chit on the books, trading at 1000x where it should – if it should at all

It’s on the RegSho thats about the only thing it has going for it

  • Tony Ellis

    I know it’s a POS…but I’m liking the chart!

  • bsl113

TIBX is a solid company. It might do down in the current market conditions. I don’t see any reason to short them though. It would be a pure gamble.

  • jack

I remember you telling the whole world you don’t need to know anything about the stock, if you are convienced the chart is telling you trending up or down on CNBC tv back when they brought you to speak on CNBC’s million dolloar game and now you are telling us you don’t know anything about ETFs on someone’s post up here?? Why do you need to know what the fu*# ETFs are?? It is a downtrend market, parking your money on something that makes you $100-$200 richer overnight just like your every pathetic gains every trade on TIM. Don’t you think you would have been lot better if you had plugged your ear and left your money on COIN when you first bought it (and then sold it taking loss after hour the same day?) And you touted don’t trade pre-market or after hours many times on your several posts??

  • Stan

OME is kind of like COIN

  • frankie

    Anyone plan to buy FART?

  • Gary

    TIM,
    Supernova In the Making!!!

    SYBD!

    How do you play this?

  • timsykes

ETFs are not stocks! I don’t play market guessing games, when I say its all in the charts, I’m talking about being able to predict specific movements based on patterns that influence others trading. ETFs don’t care about individual traders, they, like gold and oil plays, move based on the prices of their components. Verrrrrrry different. I play market in efficienices. Learn the difference

  • Adrian

went short coin at the open hard decision i think coin gives up some gains people have got to take profit sometime?? so far my my play seems to be working great will watch close this stock gains momentum fast

  • http://www.glguideservice.com Jeff C

    Any thoughts on SONS?

  • http://www.glguideservice.com Jeff C

SONS Looks like earnings news….kind of like FART…LOL

  • timsykes

i wouldnt short COIN here, in fact i might buy if it can break $16.30-$16.40 on high volume…never underestimate a breakout!

  • lmsmith

I do what I do every open morning on COIN…… 5 mins into trading…I buy coin…..usually 400 shares, and sell them when it reach that new high- and then I am out…I profit all the time…… I wouldn’t short it- it’s breaking new highs EVERY DAY………

  • Gary

    imsmith…thank you!

You said that samething yesterday. I looked at the chart and…yes indeed it is doing that. So, This morning I got me a peice of that pie.

    thank you.

  • Eric T

Can anyone tell me why is COIN making such huge gains and breaking out these past few weeks?

  • Tony Ellis

    COIN…where’s the volume?

  • Joseph

Damn Tim! just like you said

  • timsykes

another pathetic COIN breakout. Eric, its called a short squeeze/breakout. Very, very easy to spot, very, very difficult to play considering it the way it trades

  • http://jcutz5000@aol.com The Barber

SWC took a nose dive today on some bearish news. looks like its gonna downtrend from here…………..

  • lmsmith

I couldn’t resist- back in COIN again…… too easy

  • timsykes

i speak too soon, c’mon COIN, gimme a real spike!

  • Stan

i think theres def more money to be made going long than waiting for a spike to short but the higher it goes the more worry some id get going long

  • KF

SWC..nice fakeout yesterday almost shook me. Dilutive private placement and declining metal prices…perfect storm if you ask me. Doesn’t want to seem to break the psychological barrier of 20 though with any conviction. All the stops are right below.

  • Al

    EXAS up 50% on news

  • Eric T

What do you guys think about shorting RHD? My friend put in a short tuesday and is $300 in the money so far. Looks like good volume and a definitely nowhere to go but down.

  • timsykes

SWC, shoulda woulda shorted into that breakdown of $19.80–the low form the other day,, now $18.80, shoulda woulda coulda, shoulda woulda coulda

RHD, its down so much, u risk spikes

  • Stan

Tim – patience paid off again with RYL shorted at 27.40 it went up yesterday but went down nicely today .. about to cover in the neighborhood of 26.50 but im debating it to go down more by tomorrow morning but i think i should collect my profits, what do u think???

  • timsykes

no idea about RYL, totally random chart, not my kind of play at all

  • lmsmith

TMA just hit bottom today- any thoughts? I would love to ride if for the bouce up- but I am scared that they might diminish completely…….

  • timsykes

I’d never play a stock like TMA, what possible edge could u ever have? its news related, cnbc, every fund manager playing it….no thanks, i’ll stick to inefficient markets!

  • Stan

shorted RYL 2 days ago at 27.50 covered at 26.55 (near the days low) in the last seconds of trading – damn that was soo intense. who knows what happens tomorrow with it, thank god for that major sell off at the end of the day.

The first one looks real nice. This is one of the good things that you have a profitable online business(trading is one). So you could just move to any place you like.
