Cool Website Of The Week Makes You Forget Hotels: AirBedAndBreakfast.com or Airbnb.com For Short

Yeahhhh, finance is boring, highlighting cool new new sites is fuuuuun!

And if you’re traveling to some fancy hotel tonight, you’ll probly wish I found this earlier because now you coulda woulda shoulda rented an entire private house for the same price (possibly).

AirBnB.com’s motto is “forget hotels” and then it says “stay with a local when traveling” because it’s a nice geographically organized database of people’s homes in which there’s a bed/futon/room or even their entire apartment/home is available to stay in while you’re visiting any one of the 697 cities in 71 countries–which I’m sure will start growing exponentially.

Okay, so it’s basically a better designed Craigslist…and that’s needed since Craigslist has been overrun by spammers (c’mon, you had to have noticed).

Check out the few hundred New York locations HERE–you can sort them by recommended or by how cheap they are…not sure if it’s safe/cool to pay only $30/night, but go for it.

The airbed in a shared room with a cool looking couple on W. Houston St. for $50 looks interesting.

I slept overnight a few times in January on the subway, so I would probably be willing to try out a $30/night room. The $50 one does look really cool.
