Just as I guesstimated in yesterday’s premarket watchlist, we were due for a big up or down move in the market—yeah we’re tired of small moves–so I profited by buying classic-momentum stock ARNA into the beginnings of the up move when the Dow was up 80 points and sold for nice profits when the Dow was up 200ish. Understand most momentum stocks do follow the market.
We have several nice plays lining up…
KPPC doubled from $1 to $2…perrrrfect longterm downtrend, this is clearly a potential short, just waiting for the proper fading action, PennyStocking Part Deux DVD students know exactly what to look for just the 1st up day so far though so no rush
TLEO had nice earnings, looks like it might want to fill the gap between $9.50 and $11…lots of overhead resistance, chart will probly resemble VPRT tough for a big breakout, but only a little downside for the next few weeks.
MPEL also had great earnings, gradual uptrend throughout the day, potential buy…seriously….only a potential short if it has 3-4 big up days in a row like a few weeks ago
ANDS is a great potential sort today, pattern has perfect fade written all over it, support at $6.80…I wrote on TIMalerts.com before the market close I was thinking about shorting overnight, but not with the overall market surging so much…if it does crack $6.80, next support is $6.30 so it’s an easy 30-40 cents/share…be careful, they’ve got earnings on the 26th
ARNA did turn out to be a good buy yesterday, I bought 2500 at $5.14, a bit early before the afternoon breakout past $5.16, but plenty of time for TIMalert subscribers to get in and when the market roared, we all profited—I took gains at $5.31—perfect sell, just 2 cents off the high—trade scared!– because I have a morning meeting and I stink at buying, $400 profit in 2 hours is fine for me…see how others did:

Blegh… +$150 on ARNA…Oh well paid for 5 months of malt liquor for Tim-TBohen

ZN was strong again yesterday, up another 12%, now turning into a perfect Supernova, still a potential buy—as shorts, what few there are–will really get squeezed if it pops over $17.75…but sooner than later, this will be a great short too…get ready, try to reserve shares to short each and every day…they will do a financing at a discount to market into this surge, you can count on it
HRZ proved to be a great bounce off the same level at which I bought a few days ago…learn the lesson: always consider buying, not shorting, stocks that shoot up on earnings, they’re fundamentally good…for the time being.
EXM popped 40 cents yesterday, 10%, trying to form a double-bottom
GOE finally dropped a few dollars per share, but I believe the drop has just begun…MXC-style…potential short if I can find any shares to actually borrow!
