A Sweet Chart & A Milestone Reached:

Posted by Timothy Sykes on Tue 25th of Nov, 2008 06:39:22 PM

1. There was a classic morning spike on YRCW today, the kind of intraday chart pattern I talk about at length in my new PennyStocking Part Deux instructional trading DVD:

yrcw1 A Sweet Chart & A Milestone Reached:

Not something you want to open yourself up to…ever….if you’re a short seller. FYI all my shorts emailed/text messaged to TIMalert subscribers are picked very carefully as I’m only too aware of this dangerous pattern.

Actually not a bad pattern to try to buy into.

2. Reaper, one of my greatest PennyStocking DVD students and one of the few TIMalerts lifetime members, reached the coveted $50,000 profit milestone today:

My total TimProfit is now at $50,140.08! (net of commissions)

Some stats:

Average 8839 shares traded per day

Profit from following TIMalerts: $17,288 (avg profit of 4.3%)

Profit on my own trades using Tim’s system: $32,851 (avg profit of 0.48%)

The reason my own trading margin is so much lower is that I lost a little bit of money trying to trade Tim’s system on my own stocks at first. Also, I trade in and out of positions a lot.

My weighted average profit margin on all trades was 2.64%

While I have a big account, I only used more than $25,000 on two big trades (USS and SIL), netting me $30k.

So my other $20k in profit comes when my average position size is under $10k. Not bad.

Pallian -- I think they work on Macs. I chose Elo because they had good drivers for Vista 64-bit. I got mine from Provantage, $722 including shipping for a 19". There are cheaper ones available, but I wanted a higher-quality model.
  • Hey Reaper - does the touchscreen work on macs as well? And how much did it cost?

I was calling SIFY right from the get go in chat,IL too..nailed that too on my call right at open

Longed YRCW on the even $3 cross took it to 3.88 and flipped it short at 3.76 taking it down till it dropped back to the even 3 mark.
One of the better trades of the day along with hopping SRI short RIGHT OUT OF THE GATE on red...nice no sweat 16% there

LMsmith...great LEN trade today..I was right behind you short at 7.20,covered eod at 6.10..like you said..easy pickings there

Why the hell did everyone miss SIFY? I've got the flu, in the middle of selling some commercial property I own (at a 100% loss, booyah!), and still I caught it in pre-market and right after the open. APP, though not up a ton, was straight up into Monday's close, and it didn't gap down. Somebody shoulda, as they say, "tapped that".

Didn't get even half of SRI's downside, but with so much else on my mind I'll take the gain.

BTW, got my 1st touchscreen monitor today. It is nice. For entering orders from level 1 with IB it is much quicker than using a mouse. Touchscreens 2 and 3 have already been ordered. Elo 19" Intellitouch if anyone cares: http://elotouch.com/Products/LCDs/1928L/default...

    Tim,

Its been very helpful to have the watchlist the nite before
the last couple nights. More time to study charts, especially for
those of us trying to learn and that are much slower at it.

Now send me my darn DVD's!!! :-)))

YRCW would've been a great short if you shorted around $3.80ish....hence why Muddy and 13th like shorting those big, fast spikes near round $ marks
