Suck On This John Chow, My Blog Made $45,000 Last Month!

UPDATE: Less than 4 months later, my blog income is up to $83,000/month, I love this business!

Awwww yeah, that’s right, not only am I gonna report my trading gains/losses (see July 2008 review HERE), now I’m also gonna detail my blog’s earnings each month.

Cuz as much as I like cutting through all the BS in finance/trading/penny stocks, there’s even more BS in “make money online” racket–I know cuz after running this blog for 9 months, I’ve seen lots of crazy shit, most of which hasn’t made me a dime.

Inspired by John Chow’s monthly blog income reports (see his $40,000 June HERE), below are the numbers for my blog last month–proving that my biz model is superior to most, especially considering Chow only made $40k even though he’s got 27x more RSS readers (help me out and signup for mine HERE!) and and about 3x as many visitors….if this post is popular enough, I’ll begin an entire new blog devoted to how to make money form blogging, maybe with a project to be titled “Transparent Blog Income” (TBI) or something to that effect…

These are the July results of a hardworking internet entrepreneur, think 16-20 hours days, including weekends…it’s all about how bad you want it, f$%^ the 4-hour work week you fat lazy American slobs, working hard, and honestly, is the path to righteousness and fulfillment:

(My personal income is reduced by expenses & the various percentages I pay out to the godsend named Pallian, but that’s between me and the IRS…not that I have to pay substantial taxes anytime soon since I’m still working off my CYGT losses)

Trading Gains: $3,213

Penny Stocking DVD + TIMalerts: $35,031

Website Advertising & Affiliate Sales: $5,076

An American Hedge Fund Book: $1,616

Total: $44,936

Some notes:

Ad revenue would surely be higher if I didn’t have a problem promoting liars, cheats and frauds…unfortunately I do

This $45k is nearly double my $25k June figure (estimated), because TIMalerts has become such a raging success thanks to ALL 18 alerts being winners (so far…don’t expect perfection to last), with the average gain per alert in July being 24% within 1-2 days…no BS, go to the subscribers-only TIMalerts.com website (where there’s a lot more discussiont han on this free site) and see the alert table/testimonials on the front page.

Book income has remained steady the past few months, although it’s waaaaay off its initial figures, which is to be expected…I can live with $1-$2k/month for the rest of my life, more if I actually repeat my feat inside of a decade…

I have some other income thanks to money market interest, but it’s nto related to the blog so it don’t matter here.

Yes, I’m banking of DVDs and TIMalerts, but go to either of those pages and see the money earned by my customers greatly exceeds my personal earnings….this should change as people realize this isn’t a hoax, it’s just a way of making a few extra bucks every few days, weeks or months, whenever the variables align properly to get the odds 80/20 or 90/10…only then should you strike–and, in time, my products begin to outsell all the frauds out there…

Impressive, man…this is a great income generator. Sounds like you work insanely hard, though. I saw a post that said your website layout is for sale. For how much? How much to host?

I probly wouldn’t do it if I were you, but would be soooo cool to see details and all your costs made transparent here.

Here’s an idea for a blog post Tim: even though you’re a private corpany, you could release quarterly financial statements…transparency to the max

    Sykes,

Even though your blog generated more than 40k(majority of dvd and alert sales), John Chow’s blog makes his money from advertising and affiliate programs on his site. Which if you can make 40k alone from advertising and such on your site, then its a fair comparsion.

way to go man. Keep up the good work. Hopefully you can write a book about how you broke expectations and proved that your success in college wasn’t just a dot com flash in the pan.

This number better be 2x higher by June 2009, I’m holding you to it.

As for transparency I’ve had two things with it:
1.) Success. Because people rarely get to see behind the scenes of how someone puts money in their bank. People eat it up.

2.) Copycats. Many rationalize, “If I do everything exactly like he does, I’ll make at least half what he does.”

Fortunately your style and work ethic is so distinct, so unique, so much more creative than the dorks who will/have copy you…they won’t see a tenth of the same rewards.

    Congrats!

So I got a margin call email from ToS today. Similar to the one mentioned in http://www.timothysykes.com/timsykes/2008/06/26/livestock-returns-tomorrow-1-2pm-est-with-some-changes/

I don’t understand why, because I didn’t day trade (always held overnight) until ToS updated their software with the PDT countdown. Since then I have day traded a couple of times, but never more than twice in 5 business days (always check the countdown first). I hoping it’s a mistake, because I’ve never bought on margin and I’ve never even pushed the envelope on the PDT rule. Trying to get more information out of them.

    Maybe I’m not understanding correctly?

The thing here is: if you were so damn successful as a hedge fund manager and hadn’t blown yourself out of the water, there would be no need for you to be some lame-ass “hard-working internet entrepreneur(ship)” working 16-20 hour days…

What blew the site up was Tim Alerts. This is the main reason Sykes took in 45K. He hit 12 straight winners with an average return of 25%. If he had 12 straight losers he wouldn’t have sold any DVD’s nor had so many TIM alert subscribers. He’s be in line seeking unemployment benefits. This blog in a sense is like managing a hedge fund. Performance brings reward.

Philip Falcone manages 20 billion and was up 40% as of June with his short financials long energy strategy. Numbers released today show him down 15% just for the month of July. Everyone has their down times.

Back to you in the studios Dick.

Fly, the thing here is: I wasn’t a successful hedge fund manager! If you read my book, u’d know that…as it is, i’m taking my thoroughly non-scalable strategy and teaching regular people to make some decent money….that has value to it, and as i expected, that value is higher than the actual trading gains that big old bad timing TIM is capable of…learn before you post and your blog could be better ya lil son of a bitch

Want another hack at ZYXI? Touched it’s record high from 4 years ago at 4.10 before backing off to 4.05 big volume yesterday on good news. May end up running bigtime tomorrow.

A MESSAGE TO “THE FLY” COMMENTOR:
I run my own blog called NevBlog.com which used to list all my personal income and transparently displayed some of my activities.

I am used to your kind.

You sit by your computer with nothing else to do but read blogs you supposedly hate….but secretly like. You’re probably a decently nice person in real life, not too bright but not too dumb; however with the veil of anonymity over the internet you feel like a big man being able to take a pot-shot at someone better/bigger/more popular than yourself (in this case Tim).

If you don’t like Tim, don’t visit his site. Just to see Tim’s site you must physically and consciously make an effort to type in the URL, or more likely, click it in your favorites menu (I would bet ANYTHING “The Fly” has this site in his favorites).

You see, you think you’re hurting Tim by posting your comments, but you have the opposite effect. The more no-thought and brainless criticisms you post, the more Tim’s traffic count goes up and the more successful he becomes. You probably also regularly check back to his posts several times a day to see if he commented back to you. After you read this comment you will visit back even MORE times. People who do this are generally starved for affection in real life or have low-level social skills. Another by product of your postings is it creates controversy, and as a media figure Tim thrives on controversy. Point = Tim.

I’ll tell you the secret to shut people like me and Tim up:
    Don’t listen/watch/read.

    But you won’t do that.

But hey, this isn’t any of my concern. So go back to your boring life making less per year than Tim did this month.

Continue to make your comments, its ok that you have a man-crush on Tim…I won’t tell.

    Semper Trader,
if you look at the last two instances where the volume was that big for two days in a row it resulted in a down day on the third. It went up on news yesterday but I doubt your going to have a dollar on it tomorow. Just an opinion.

I don’t see any great setups for tomorrow. ZYXI I’d hit day after tomorrow if it keeps running (as I expect it to). VRNM solidly bullish news, but I’d hit that short if it had another couple big % up days. Everything from the current watch lists is just getting uninteresting.

I am only about 6 days from having my new account open and funded! Yay for possibly good borrows and pre-borrows!

haha Mike_13th keeping it real on ILE

no one wants to hear you, seems like

Even if you were reluctant to go long at the open on ILE (like I was) you could look for 10:30am confirmation. Zoomed past that. Or you could look for the short off the rocket, there were many ways to play it. None of those ways were Timmay plays, that doesn’t take anything away from him, but it goes back to the question of whether expert traders like Mike_13th should post here- all those timmay followers who come to the chatroom should reconsider whether they go there-

I hadn’t heard much out of you in a while, but came across this while perusing dealbreaker, and thought, sure I’ll cehck this out to see if the kid has changed his tune at all…but you haven’t. You continue to be a no talent jerk off, who makes money doing nothing but shamelessly self promoting. The only people worse than you are the losers that believe your garble and admire you.

So I guess I was within few hundred on the monthly revenue generated from advertising and your affiliate program from your site. Three weeks ago, on the Friday live stock, I said you received anywhere from $4600 to $5400 in ad revenue.

Now, the timalerts and dvd revenue is great, but are you going to break it out? It is 2 entirely different products. Let me know timmay. peace

Hey Tim, good luck with your endevours. I will be watching this site not that I’m aware of it. I’ve dealt with a lot of losers and It’s nice to see someone admit when they’ve lost money in the stock market. Keep up the good work and happy trading.

No bad, not bad. Overall, I think you provide a lot more worth and value on this site. I think its wise to generate income from places besides advertising because who knows if advertising models will change again in the future.

Sorry but you look like a real douche in the top right banner, holding cash. I earned over $1M last year from my web business – but you won’t see douche-y, cheesey pictures of me holding money. Just isn’t classy my man.

I was a video of Chow but it’s sound quality was bad. Despite this he was funny and likable. Though I didn’t learn much because of sound quality. You should consider doing your own or maybe you already have. Once I finish my membership course and get ProductProposal.com up and ready I’d like to promote the dvd’s?

    Hey Tim

Man, it’s great to learn more about you and your achievements. I used to be a prop trader for 6 years, worked with a group of guys providing liquidity on the ATTN ECN, with the infamous Harvey Houtkin running the show. I also hanged with the Broadway Trading guys in NYC like Serge and Brandon. Those were the good old days…but after reading some of your stuff, seems not too much has changed!

Got in the IM game because it’s less stressful supposedly but you’re right, with all these “guru’s” pitching smoke, I’m starting to think I should get back in the stock game. Still remember making 30G’s in less than half an hour on RMBS. Of course lost 20G’s the next day but ended the month in the green. Definitely not for the weak hearted for sure.

I’m going to have to follow your strategy and see where it takes me….

Thanks for providing a place for IM’ers like me who want to get back in the game!

    Talk soon,
    Mark

really in today’s market. You are a simple fraud. Took me a while as a private citizen to prove it. This guy is a proven scam artist, if you give him money after this post, enjoy losing it. Go on and sell me beachfront in arizona.

I am a short seller. Have not short sold penny stocks before but am successful in short selling. Charts tell me the story and and now see many pennystocks going way lower percentage wise as well. What many don’t understand is that there is no rush in shorting. You don’t have to catch them high. Since your profit will be no more than 100% anyway, you can short them anytime and still make up to 100%. And if they’re now a penny stock they will probably remain a penny stock. I chose to short securities above 6.00 because shorting a marginable stock gives you more shorting power   But i know of one right now @ a buck 55 that will probably hit 5o cents in next 3 months. Pretty good gain to me- about a 70% gain.
    I have a 95% shorting success record.
