A Review Of My Latest TIMalert: Only 15% Overnight Gains, Sorry!

Posted by timothysykes on Sun 10th of Aug, 2008 06:06:21 PM

So the latest TIMalert was a buy, not a short. It was weird for me to pick a long that wasn’t a true breakout, but when as I detailed in THIS post, NOBL was a prime candidate for a next day gap up and early morning short squeeze, so it was an easy call and eventual 15% overnight gainer.

That makes me 19 for 19 in TIMalert picks since inception June 12…I’ll have a 2 month review Tuesday, but for my TIMalert track record click HERE.

Long story short NOBL was a surprise earnings winner that caught longterm shorts off guard and a big intraday drop off a big up day sucked in new shorts, paving the way for a mini-short squeeze and an eventual 15% gain (boo hoo under my average of 20% per alert gains) from the alert ($5 to $5.75, I sold my 1,500 shares at $5.49 for a, 10% gain, not bad timing as usual, or $700ish profit), putting me up 95% now in the last 9 months!

No need to show off my TIMalert or the chart, you cheap bastards have gotten enough free previews, even if you’ve only gotten to see them waaaay late…for now, just enjoy the testimonials from TIMalert subscribers who banked on this latest alert. (mind you many more email me, but they don’t want to go on the record for various reasons…so only 13 testimonials this time…booo hoooo all these other BS newsletters have 3-5 testimonials TOTAL, not per alert, and they don’t talk $ gains, nor are they ranked on Covestor (where I’m still somehow #1 by a mile…you guys are pathetic, I’m not even a good trader…see rankings HERE)…probly cuz they’re all chicken shit!)

Here they are:

Out of NOBL at $5.65. Made $1,140.19 after commission.
-PCola

LOL I am the last to post. I brashly jumped in, 10min after timalert, bought 1000 shares @ 5.35, (stock already up 7%, DOHT!!), got lucky and sold @ 5.62 for $256 profit during morning spike. THANKS!

yeah, if the stock moves $.50 after the alert comes out and you haven't got in yet I would let it go. These suckers don't wait for anyone. I almost didn't trade at all. If it was a short I would have skipped it.

Tim..I did cut my loses. I see it dropping this morning. Out with a 10% loss on my first Tim Trade. My mistake for getting in to late. Good call for you, bad timing for me. :).
  • arcus, why in the world would u still be holding--sure it might spike, but the key to longevity is cutting losses quickly, i'd never ever allow a 10% loss to possibly become a 20% one
  • Arcus
YounGunz...Looks like you made $15 profit. $35 on the sale minus $20 (2*$10) for commission. I got in later than you at $5.50 and I'm still holding. Got stuck but also in for just 100 shares. Keep an eye on it and see how holding it for a couple of days works out. :).
  • tacguy, scary what these brokers will allow for commissions
  • tacguy22
Tim- I know they say you can't get a margin account and short stocks with about 2500 bucks, but I only have 500 in my account and I requested to be upgraded to margin on E-Trade and they approved it. I wonder if it is gonna let me short?

What my $25 profit not good enough to add to the testemonials :) haha. I got in late at 5.29 sold at 5.60. Since I was late I just did 100 shares. I thought it couldn't hurt since it was a buy and had good potential to gap up or spike early in the morning. Unfortunately it went flat but I was able to get out before it started to fall back to $5.

So this makes it like pick #2 out of 19 that you'd probably not make profit if you held for multiple days? Even so it was still a good pick if you grabbed it when Tim did rebounding from a dip after it surged $2 intraday.
  • jim, u could easily buy breakouts, but u wouldnt be able to short
  • jimjones
    Hey Tim,
i was wondering if your method could work for me... i have about 400 to 500 in my trading account to play with (All of my other Dollars are tied up in long term plays) i was wondering if i could use your method with this amount because i know shorting generally requires larger amounts of capital in reserve or would i just be wasting my time with this amount?

    Thanks,
    Jim
  • way to go
