Entertainment Today: No LiveStock, Just A Riveting Account Of Bear Stearns Collapse!

Posted by timothysykes on Fri 4th of Jul, 2008 03:51:04 PM

Due to the holiday, you might’ve guessed there’s no LiveStock today (although I was ready to do it!), but since you’ve become used to being entertained each and every Friday–Family Matters-style–I dug something up that you might just like…

See the whole article HERE and be prepared to spend some time reading it–it ain’t short, but it is worthwhile. Of course it had to come from a non-finance media outlet: Vanity Fair. Because as you know, just as corrupt as penny stocks are, the financial media is boring times infinity (besides even being a little corrupt themselves)

OK, no more ripping, this account of the Bear collapse really is educational and entertaining, good job Vanity Fair! And for those of you who need more convincing to read a long article, just check out the kind of cool pics they use:

Good Girl, on the other hand I was so bored that tried to force opportunities in the canadian market and lost $100 of my hardly earned last week profits, should just read when there is nothing to play.

Out of this site scope, no pump and dump on this one. but need to let out the fact that I was scalping BCE in an intraday short (BCE canada after the takeover) was making a few small, bucks, working fine, when my internet went down 3 minutes before the close, now I;m stacked with 400 short shares (around $15 000) of the biggest takeover EVER over the weekend. SHould just pray and close as fast as I can on Monday.
  • balls...or just plain nuts...
just testing...trying to get my avatar working...
  • LOL gs, nobody cared about CYGT enough to short it, doubt there were even any shares available

I think the lost itself was no something unsurmountable, the thing is that he lost investors confidence cause of that.

Great read on Bear Sterns, looks like if you are big enough you can short down to death anything. Really incredible.

Tim, while you were on Cygnus, did you feel funds short selling it trying to bring you down?
  • still waiting on final audit, but probly between $300k and $400k
