New Website And About 20 Stocks Making Amazing Returns

Posted by timothysykes on Tue 20th of May, 2008 10:21:09 AM

Whatcha guys think of the new site? Me and my indians have been up like 30 hours now–with a few naps here and there–getting it all working!

Lots of stocks in play, but sadly all of ‘em are energy/earnings and the few that are true pump and dumps are up, but not up enough…and lately even pump and dumps haven’t been getting dumped very easily…Anyway, here you go, in order of importance/likelihood of being a worthy trading opportunities…

MXC, PDO and FPP are still at the top of my list, got 200 MXC and 1,000 FPP reserved, they all just keep going higher, squeezing stubborn shorts (feelin’ pretty good about covering my MXC at $27.50 and FPP at $4.13ish yesterday!). PDO for all its bouncing offered a great afternoon fade yesterday, but still finished solidly higher on the day…remember, other than dangerous quick scalps, wait for red for multi-day shorts! FPP will die soon, enough said.

CWSI is an earnings play but when it’s up that much in 1 day, you just gotta consider shorting it
COIN just took out multi-month support (pumpers, you need to work harder! LOL, it feels good to rub it in, maybe there’s a little justice in the world after all) and PennyStocking DVD student Jeff Rogers, who appears to be next in line to the Tim Sykes throne, whatever the hell that means (Tony Ellis, what happened to you?) is short 2,000 shares at $8.25…I like that trade, but he shorted before it broke yesterday’s low, bad Jeff!

AVR, LNG and SYNM are all up around 50% over the past few days. Make no mistake about it, each company stinks at what they do, they’re horrific, incompetent, typical. But a rising tide lifts all boats…could/should be some decent 50 cent/share pullbacks soon, hopefully they can squeeze some early shorts and gimme some more downside

PEIX pisses me off because if I had any trades/buying power left yesterday, it soooo coulda woulda shoulda been bought before the market close as it’s exactly the same as now 2-day runner CPSL…which coincidentally coulda woulda shoulda been bought on Friday…these are easy 50 cent/share gapers and if you have the buying power and aren’t in them overnight, you’re an idiot.

BWEN and GTE were both recommended by The Rock a while back—I guess if you make enough picks each day, sometimes you’re gonna be right!—but BWEN really only broke out big in the past 2 days…even if it couldn’t hold all its gains nor its volume (potential fader?)

TPLM spiked big yesterday on some seemingly decent news, but dubious volume…2/3 spiker and reversal play?

ENT started to breakdown whereas similar pattern guy XRM was completely flat, but has been basing soooo gradually higher the past few days.

FOUR, AUSE, BSHF and HYBR’s not surprising continued strength reminds us why we don’t short randomly strong penny stocks, even if they are blatant spammers, particularly those that are blatant spammers

Wait for penny stocks that spam to breakdown like KYUS which dropped 50 cents off its high before rebounding and FORC, which ran out of money to pay promoters yesterday, dropping and staying down 30%…FORC is now like a homeless guy begging for change to pay their promoters…wait a sec, that could be a funny TIMtv skit…hmmmmm

As I speculated might happen yesterday, MMGW did in fact breakout

Ok, that’s it, I gotta get some sleep, be back in the afteroon

  • FPP collapsed waaay too quickly for me, tried to reshort 1000 at 7.10, but it got rejected, must've canceled my order so they had to re input it, buy that time, the 50 cent tan had come and gone...all the more reason to wait for red
  • none
FORC gapping up two days in a row... potential play?
  • cash
Tim if this is what is was like during the bubble no wonder you are addicted. I was so pumped to start trading on monday but saw all those stocks going higher and higher and I just sat on the sidelines. I should have went long a few but i guesss that is learning.
  • anyone going long on FPP? Sonid...I hope u did.
  • Matt
Actually I do have the DVD, but I've only watched it once about a month ago. Time for a re-viewing, this time with lots of note taking!

Thanks, YngvaiMalmsteve. A rulebook or some kind of checklist would make it harder for me to mess up.
  • YngvaiMalmsteve
Hey, Matt, everyone has told me that you should paper trade first before doing it with real money. But I found that, with paper trading, I wasn't as careful because I knew it wasn't real money....so I wasn't learning anything.

There's nothing like the pain of losing real money to help you learn to be a better trader. The reason I have an ever-developing rules list is that, every time I lose money on a trade, I feel it...and it forces me to set rules so it doesn't happen again
  • PEople do not confuse sideways price action near the highs in strong stocks with sideways price action of a strong stock thats sideways action off its highs, hanging around the flatline, possible to tank bigtime, taking out stop losses and panicking longs. i think i detail this in my DVD, but since many u are too poor for it, i guess i'm just gonna have to do a blog post about it
  • Matt
First trade ever - shorted mxc at 41.72. Watched the "cracking sideways price action" and tried to calm myself down. Had to go to the bathroom and remembered Tim's bathroom story, so I wanted to put in a stop loss order at $45. I put in a buy order instead - *headdesk*.

So I made $32 as the buy executed at 41.08.

Trading with my own money is a lot more nerve wracking than paper trading. I am considering not using the TOS paper money and only making small trades of a few hundred dollars because even though I have done 25 or 30 successful trades using paper money (I timed CNEX perfectly!), doing it for real is still such an adrenaline rush that I made mistakes. Even if the fees kill me, it'll be the cost of education.

JM had the same thing happen to me. Told my I had to meet the 25K requirement. So I send them an e-mail appoligizing and telling them I lost track of how many trade I had made for the week and they where all cool about it.
(I'm with TOS by the way they are much more laid back over there)
  • new post is up about my friend COIN :)

    http://www.timothysykes.com/2008/05/20/behold-t...

Jmoates, yup, welcome to why i hate the SEC with such a passion, just switch over TOS, they'll let you trade and u can give me a referral fee :)

I missed out on FPP's little dip, alost pulled the trigger on MXC's little fade, i just cant keep up with trading and publishing...probly just gonna stick to writing/videotaping, trading muuuuuuuuuuuuch less
  • Webster
JM - The whole rule is BS. I have over 25k in the account and was worried what would happen if I got flagged. Well I am flagged and no big deal. Actually have more day buying power each day now. So take your bites here and there and get yourself over the 25k limit then never worry about that crap again.
  • YngvaiMalmsteve
I got out of CIMT a while back and took a very small loss. It wasn't running up like I anticipated. Good thing I got out because I just noticed it tanked hardcore today.

I f'ed up on MMGP. I just made a post to the forum about it. I got stopped out when there were a few very low volume sales that brought the price down (it wasn't a dump). Took a huge loss in relation to my account size. I've re-entered, though, in anticipation of the earnings report. Definitely a risky play but the potential reward outweighs the risk on this one for me.

Here's a quick lesson in pattern day trading that I just learned:

After shorting for an average price of $5.90 on FPP (actual cover prices were $5.95, $5.90, and $5.89), I covered half my position at $5.57 (actually I was in the process of lowering the bid when it partial filled). The remaining shares were still set to sell at $5.57, so I went ahead and lowered the rest of them down to $5.52 like I had originally intended. Sooner than later, the sellers came rushing in and took out the rest of my position in 100 and 200 share blocks. I went back to my TDA homepage to check my account balance...BUT WAIT, what was this? it said I had done 4 day trades in 5 days! I thought to myself this cannot be! I had only 2 when I first logged on. Some of you are already guessing the rule that I had never known. Supposedly, if you change your buy or short midstream and do the same thing for your sell or cover, the lesser number of transactions of the two actions (buy/short or sell/cover) will be counted as day trades! So I had 3 shorts to get into FPP and 2 covers to get out. That means I daytraded twice on one security. I think this is complete bullshit of course, since every definition on TDA's website says it has to do with the security and not the point of entry/exit. Anyways, this is my second offense, so I am now a pattern day trader. They said that if I don't day trade for 90 days the flag will be removed from my account. WHO CAN DO THAT? I have to trade!!! ITS A FREAKIN ADDICTION NOW! Luckily, with this last trade of FPP I gave myself a little bit of a cushion between me and the 25K mark. Or maybe I'll just move over to TOS. I dunno, but I'm still pissed.
  • sonid
Here FPP comes back roaring again went to lunch came back and now its gearing up I might jump in long on this one overnight maybe?....
  • will_the_thrill
Yngvai, how did you do with those two long stocks you were playing into earnings?
  • JMoates77
    Still going down...wow.
  • Webster
    Way to JM.
  • Dan-O
    Congrats, JM!
  • sonid
Nice Job.... yea i think I am going to wait and then might go long overnight although it's been up a lot over the last two days I have a feeling these petroleum plays are going to pop soon. time will tell though.
  • JMoates77
The rest just got covered at 5.52! Woo hoo!
  • JMoates77
Personal opinion is wait towards the end of the day, if it starts gaining momentum, based off of what it has done the past two days, it would be a good long overnighter.

Half of my short got covered at 5.57
  • sonid
JMO whats your thoughts on going long around the 5.45 mark ?
  • JMoates77
Yeah, i doubt it will break that resistance level
  • sonid
I think tim is sleeping right now! but if you must cover I would cover around 5.48 looks like there is a huge buyer about 11000 shares there
  • JMoates77
Come on Tim, tell me you're going to short here at 5.66 so it gives me some reassurance not to just cover right now and take my profits.
  • Caught some of that PDO intra today... not bad. These AMEX stocks trade like shit though... gappy, false quotes, etc.

I was happy to get out alive. Drifting back higher as I type...

    -DT
  • JMoates77
Or at least that's the way I do it.
  • Webster
Ah did not know that. Thanks for the help.
  • JMoates77
Reserving shares just means putting in a short order way above the current price action but still within your buying power. That way it will never get executed, but you still have the ability to play around with your entry point.
  • Webster
Thanks JMoates, was not aware you could reserver shares through TDA
  • JMoates77
No I use TDA, got these shares at about 7:30 AM CST this morning.
  • Webster
Do Short Shares become available during the day as short buy to cover? So if there are none available now could there be later this afternoon?
  • sonid
I would be careful here with FPP this thing has had some strong price action and judging by the other petroleum plays it might pop and SQUEEZE to 7.
  • JMoates77
there's a 20,000 share seller that keeps disappearing and reappearing
  • Webster
JMoates - do you use THinkorSwim? I was trying to get in around 5.95 but could not get any shares from TD Ameritrade, yesterday had no problem shorting this stock.
  • JMoates77
shorted 4000 shares of FPP @ an average share price of $5.90
  • Zykosis
    MXC gonna breakout?! crazy
  • wes
EWST up HUGE look into this stock it could be a big something in the next few days
  • JMoates77
Gotta get up early to get these shares
  • Webster
    Yep same problem
  • Al
Can't find any FPP shares to short
  • JMoates77
    wow, look at FPP go!
  • wes
i know this has been touched on alot but I need some clarification.
    wed-2 pattern day trades
    thurs- non
    friday- non
    monday - non
    thurs - 2 PDTs.

That puts you over the limit doesnt it? even though its on the 5th day?
  • jeffrogers77
tim you flatter me, but i'm hardly a master as i'm still learning. i did just cover my COIN at $7.65 for nearly $1,200 so that's $7,000+ in 3 weeks. i have to say your dvd/book is the best investment i've ever made, i hope you sell a million of them!
  • Webster
    FPP heading for 6
  • Joey
why is FORC going so much up? here is your second chance to short - just wait for the right pattern.
  • JMoates77
eh, I was hoping for something a bit more substantial too Zykosis. It looked like it was going to to the same thing it did yesterday between 2 and 3:15 and then gapping up like it did this morning. Oh well, looks like my earlier prediction of 5.75 and then a drop may very well hold true.
  • ShootSteel
Great new site, much quicker than the old one.
  • Zykosis
where's the cup and handle there
  • JMoates77
Maybe I was wrong, we might be looking at a cup and handle breakout of FPP!
  • i have everything i need reserved, none of it matters though cuz i WILL wait for the right pattern before shorting
  • Few on watch most are panning out ... http://www.investorslive.com/blog/2008/05/may-1...

MXC is crazy I have a feeling PDO will follow hwatever MXC decides to do
  • JMoates77
Come on Tim, I know you've got shares of FPP reserved. Help a brotha out and tell me what your thinking.
  • Keith
I totally screwed up with shorting PDO way to early @ 20.40 and held on with upwards of 900.00 loss back to under 200.00 in loss and will let it drift down to even or maybe a profit.
  • sniper6
AVR worth watching, wait for the squeeze, then scalp up
  • Al
    Earlier I bought 2000 XNL @.79 -- It went down to .74 and sold it like a little baby. Never gave the trade a chance. Then i watched it go to .98 -- :{
  • Tony Ellis
Too busy making money. lol! I'm on vacation, come join me down on the REDNECK Riviera. Decided to take a break considering I'm up 50% on the month. Although I may jump on IVAN if it can beak 2.48.
  • Al
    Fun watching MXC and PEIX
  • JMoates77
I bet FPP will go to about $5.75 by about 12:30 - 1:00 then take a 40 cent dip and recover to close at 5.55ish. Anyone want to take 10 to 1 odds on that prediction?
  • wes
Yah I could have cashed in BIG, like a good 30-35% on MXC if I had only playd less greedy. I saw it stall, I saw its volume fade and I held thinking more buyers would come in.

Oh well, I still netted 32% overnight on PEIX.
  • Davey
Still a gutsy trade Wes, just gotta follow your instincts sometimes, but a good scalp play, and nice job on PEIX, I had no buying power yesterday and I didn't want to chase this morning but congrats to those who got in.
  • wes
Actually, I just calced it. I netted out to 1 dollar loss.
  • wes
Well I fucked MXC up. I got in at 31.7, bought more at 35.5 and ended up getting out at 36.5 something when I could have got out at 40. I saw volume decline and I knew I should have got out but I didnt. My stop took me out at 36.5 something.

So Im like fuck it ill get back in since it started another advance. bought in at 39.9, rode it back up to 45. Knew I should get out AGAIN because volume declined on the advance, same thing as last time. Fell hard and quick to like 36. My stop took me out at 37.

I netted only like maybe 30 bucks after commissions.

I banked on PEIX's open though. I made like 30% overnight on that.
  • Zykosis
we need another bubble damnit.. :)
  • sniper6
sold EGY @ 8.20, posted a sweet 40% gain, will buy it again on a good dip
  • Webster
    A Bit Scary out there!
  • MXC and FPP can go as far as they want, dont have any expectations as to when their runs will end, just wait for the gradual fade into red...

and yes, this is the kind of action that was present EVERY day back during the bubble, plenty of opportunities
  • sniper6
WWAT where's the love? c'mon up you bitch!
  • Is this what the bubble was like? holyyyyyyy
  • sniper6
    into XNL lon @ 0.75
  • JMoates77
Tim, I've got 4000 FPP shares reserved. I'm looking at a $5.50 entry for an afternoon fade. Whatdya think?
  • YngvaiMalmsteve
I got in CWSI at $5.25 this morning during the morning sell-off. A bit late, but I'm still up since it's hovering around $5.15. I think this is going to be a multi-day short. I did break the earnings rule on this one, but it was just too ridiculous how much this thing spiked
  • Webster
    Great new site Tim.

Seriously how far can MXC go?
