Is That Really Maria Bartiromo?

Posted by timothysykes on Fri 23rd of May, 2008 12:28:40 PM

I might be am a prick, but to help you guys better understand how everything on Wall Street is about perception, I gotta post this. Maria Bartiromo has been promoted hardcore as the sexiest anchor woman of CNBC, the photo below disproves that theory once and for all. Forget about just aiding and abetting stock manipulators, the fine folks over at CNBC are the true master manipulators!

maria_bartiromo Is That Really Maria Bartiromo?

And for the record, while she might be a great reporter/interviewer, the one time I met her, she was being honored at a charity event and she left midway through…and her bestselling book which doesn’t even deserve to have its title mentioned exemplifies the kind of surgarcoated/generalized crap that loses people money and is responsible for society caring little for finance.

  5. Most of hyped oil fluffs are down the second day except MXC and there is a news on yahoo why MXC is barely holding on thin air today!

  6. Two word: akins diet

  7. I didn’t know SINO is only a 50 million cap company till I read the SEC filings. Getting crushed from day highs. Will be in play though for many days to come. I believe you can’t short IPO’s till a few months out. Wait for new 52 week highs to be set before jumping in a long trade again.

  8. PDO and MXC started moving upward again!!

  9. Where is livestock?

  10. I shorted SINO today for a scalp (which was real dumb and impatient - I could have gotten a $1+) with a retail brokerage

  11. 11

    PEIX

    shorted Yesterday at 5.33…..

That’s the wait you do it
    Money for nothing…

  13. I believe it! Did you see her on Leno? She is bottom heavy.

But not to worry, there are contenders to her throne!

This one is a bit of a stretch but I’ll let the people decide

  14. ROYL is moving identical to PDO. i was going to short ROYL over the weekend for the heck of it, glad i decided not to

Jesse, you are right, early birds get the worms, but I am a hungry early bird, have been up since 6:00 and Interactive Brokers didn’t borrow me a single share. My TOS account should be working by monday.

Keep the good trading, looks like you have some flexible talent, making money just long and short. Keep on making money.

  16. 16

“”"”and her bestselling book which doesn

  17. No way that’s mario!!

  22. Man i wish i was at 25K!

  23. 23

Adam, get 2 brokerage accounts, that way if you want to get out of a position on one trader intraday, you can get the opposite position with your other trader.

Not ideal but better that being grounded with pDT rule.

  24. great idea, bc today i broke the PDT rule covering PDO this morning

  25. Amazing how the 50 day moving avg and 200 day moving avg crossed on many of these solar oil and wind plays BEFORE the big moves

  26. 26

Shit shit shit…I’m back and I’m losing money fast!!! WTF happened?

  27. is that it for PEIX.. is down all day..

  28. Vicious. I love it.

Lesson number 93: Never leave a trade unattended.

  30. no way is she the hottest, gonna go with Dan_O with Margret Brennan, Rebeecca Jarvis, and even the street.com’s Britney Umar

  31. 31

JEff, use trail orders, that has saved my ass.

  32. If you want to drool over beautiful women, then there’s plenty of porno sites out there so I don’t know why these finance broads are worth talking about. They’re just marketing ploys and this is how business works; of course the news outlets like CNBC, FOX and Bloomberg are going to hire beautiful women to read the news for them, because they know this isn’t goddamned PBS for intellectuals: CNBC, FOX, etc. are in the business of advertising to the masses. I really do not see any reason to comment further on this matter, since that is just HOW THE WORLD WORKS. You want to see beautiful women, again, I refer you to the vast world of pornography.

  33. 33

I start working full time on Monday… just when I was starting to get a hold of the game…… DAMN !!!

May end up buying a blackberry and trading from the toilet.

  34. Bloomberg has some ugly chicks… lol

  35. Don’t know why but I kinda dig Becky Quick. She’s not super hot, but there is something about her…

  36. 36

Get shorty, thanks, I was up about $3700 on the day and was just stupid enough to think it would not go the other way. After everything was said and done, I LOST a total of $1471.93 even with my $1524.02 profit off of FPP. SINO screwed me big time. Fuck the longs, I’m staying short.

Tim, quit playing around with your camera phone and get back to trading.

  37. Shorty- if you use TOS, they have a new trading widget designed for the iPhone. I think it’s at pods.thinkorswim.com..

I was long SINO. I set my trailing stop a bit too loose though and only got a $30 profit. Could’ve had over $100 profit on my small account if I had set my trailing stop better.

Shorted GBR at $10.60 in the last hour on this first red day. Target exit near $8.

  39. Long 2000 LEI @$5.18 holding over the weekend

  40. 40
    YngvaiMalmsteve -

LEI? I’d wait for a pullback before going long on that one. Already run up quite a ways, and volume is dying.

  41. I bought LEI today and holding till Tuesday.

  42. I got bent over by SINO too. Ouch.

  43. Trish Reagan is by far the hottest on CNBC!

  44. time your exit and don’t get too greedy.

  45. 45
    YngvaiMalmsteve -

Looking at the day-chart, there appears to be both support at $8, making near $8 a good target exit point. I’m going to set a conditional order in TOS to cover once the price breaks below $8.15. That will help keep greed out of it :)

  46. Cant wait for next week to trade MXC. P/E ratio of 170 proves how hyped up that POS is. It’s gotta come back down to earth.

  47. how the hell did u guys lose $ on sINO? looks like a perfect breakdown

  48. MXC doesnt have to do anything, leave your meaningless opinion at the door and focus on the higher highers its been making while consolidating…once it cracks, rip on it all u want, for now u gonna get squeeeezed

  49. Tim, got that picture of MXC. What about FPP, PDO and ROYL? They don’t have higher high.

  50. Wise Tim Kenobe,

Of all the plays this week, which would you say demonstrates the best of all your strategy’s criteria.

    Seeking the ‘Dark Gift’,
    Evan
