Another Sweet Trade By TIM, This Time On Video

Posted by Timothy Sykes on Fri 18th of Jan, 2008 12:52:45 PM

TIM $14,835, Up $219 on the Day, TIM’s First Video

Woke up early Mountain time to cover my 1,000 COINZ right near the open at $2.97—even though COIN opened up big, somebody put in a panic sell order of 6,000 shares with a $3 limit on COINZ, so I took advantage of it.

Also got the trade on camera, check this out bitches:

Very nice trade, little risk, easy $450 profit, on top of the $500 I made on COINW, more than making up for my $500 loss on COIN itself. Case in point why it’s easier to play low priced stocks. COIN perfectly downtrending after gap up, no shares available to short, but I got 1,000 each borrowed of COINZ and COINW from Thinkorswim… tried to short, but got rejected, I have no day trading buying power! Guess it finally caught up with me, LOL.

VRUS is too illiquid for me since I’m not watching the market every second. It’s really about maximizing your executions since the spreads are so crazy. Pissed I was traveling for HLCS breakdown last night, perfect negative close made that early morning drop from $17 to $14 rather predictable. Just the latest Supernova, I’m sure there will be more…

Watch NYNY, it’s a Lionmaster pick on merger/buyout speculation, since it’s only at $1.05, this could get some action, he says he wants $2-3. I’d probably get in, but I have no day trading buying power…oh well, good, no distractions, now I can sit back after a solid but incredibly flawed trading week (wish I’d gotten knocked unconscious to hold my 400 shares short of COIN I originally got at $11.70 and I’d be up $1,200 for the week right now—the dozen or so day trades I did, all added up to like $300, aka why I want to teach you guys to be patient more patient, when POS companies rise due to fluff news like a CNBC mention, they usually fall hard, all you need is patience). But, as usual in my trading, I screw up big time, but the opportunities are so great, TIM is at an all-time high. Time to go see some Sundance movies and film some crazy TIMtv clips… I’ll probably be back on later this tonight, ideally, drunk.

MOS, MELI, GRMN, 3 potential bounce plays, mentioned in my latest AOL article.

  • Getshorty
WAKE ME UP WHEN THE SQUEEZE IS OVER, gonna be under the blankets
  • ouch getting squeezed, market, stock still looking decent though
  • Getshorty
    HSNI
  • spirosu
    Only 1000 @ IB too.
  • prognesubis
    BTIM TOS none.
  • Getshorty
"HSNI is nice but boring" sounds like Tim covering within half an hour
  • Peter Piombo
I am a green pea at trading... As I was researching OCCXD last week for my first time going short, I came across Timalerts.com ... I have been a member two days after watching all Tim's vid clips... " What a Character!!" I consider my $19.95 well spent already, just with the HSNI heads up ... I am not sure really how to read the charts or do any of what Tim teaches.... I haven't seen the video's or read any of the books....just from what I have found online. I was just wondering applying Tim's strategies does BTIM look like a stock that fit's the criteria?? For a short, today?

    Thanks

    Pete
  • aha let em fight, its funny, HSNI is nice but boring
  • spirosu
One more item of note...granted, I joined up perhaps a week or two back then, but since that point, I've made it a discipline to look up the shortable shares IB has available for all the stocks on Tim's watchlist. 9 out of 10 times, they have 25k-50k+. In be-the-dipstick's defense, there are some obscure one's occasional that will only have 2k-10k; I guess then it's every man/woman, and child for themselves.
  • cswiger
    No COIN at TOS, rats...
  • Reaper
no need to get personal, BTB
  • spirosu
be-the-dipstick, again, get off your high perch - when you've been trading for 10 years like I have, then you have all the right to contend with what I have to say, till then, keep on kissing off mate and grow up a bit. I have partial faith that you'll come into your own and mature a bit, eventually. But that's a bet that I'd have to hedge, still, I'm pulling for you.
  • be-the-ball
spiro, again you are an idiot.

who gives a shit about volkswagon. 9 out of 10 stocks Tim mentions have less than 10K shares available on IB.

when you have been here a year like i have, then you can speak.
  • Getshorty
    Dump E-trade
  • DeuceDavis
E-Trade wouldn't let me short . . . . that sucks!!! Got the email in a very timely fashion and everything.

    Oh well, maybe next time.
  • YoungGunz
I didn't like my entry at 5.68 so I took a small loss and got out. If I was able to get in close to $6 I would have stuck around.
  • YoungGunz
I am thinking that with having so many subscribers now that its starting to effect the speed that the mass emails are getting out. Maybe there is just more people around to complain then before. Mo subscribers Mo problems:)

Here's an idea, have you thought to maybe have a flashing marque on the alert site when you have an active trade for the day?
  • hsni right back to day low at 5.64, doesnt matter if it cracks today or tomorrow morning, this is acting nicely and gradually, the perfect for alerts
  • yah i hesitated on COIN, now the spike is too fast for me, ho well, i'll go short in a few days when he hype dies down
  • TonyEllis
COIN the gift that keeps giving!
  • TonyEllis
COIN another fluffy PR... 64 HD stores (out of 2000+) carrying their fertilizer.
  • spirosu
Sorry, meant, "be-the-ball". Do you think you alone can afford all 50k shares to short of VLKAY when the opportunity was prime? Listen, we're all independent by nature, but that shouldn't translate to selfishness and not looking out for your fellow man. Some of the best desks out there have traders working together. But I bet you've never been on a trading floor, so what do you know, right?
  • spirosu
me-the-ball, do me a favor and kiss off. There are plenty of shares to go around.
  • be-the-ball
that spiro guy is an idiot, why would you encourage people to join your broker who will be competing with you for shares to short?
  • Yngvai
Damn PDT is keeping me out of HSNI for now
  • milingz
Thanks for the alert, but I'm looking for strength in to the close, so I will be sitting out of this trade.
  • nojobmaui
took first position at 6.07 because of your morning alert, took second position on timalert at 6. Covered at 5.75 to soon but still grossed 560. Thx c u in Vegas
