The Latest Tim Sykes Interview And Book Review

Posted by Timothy Sykes on Fri 16th of Nov, 2007 05:26:53 PM

You knew these were coming, I mean, it’s been 48 hours sooooo……

The interview comes from a pretty cool site called Retireat21.com–definitely check it out!

Not to be outdone, one of my favorite stock bloggers, Chris Perruna, posted a sweet book review on his site

, calling my book “…an excellent tell-all story…highly entertaining…I easily finished it in two sittings and was always eager to start another chapter.”

Thanks man–I’m glad you enjoyed it, keep up the great work! (His site is a must-read for everyone wanting to learn more about trading and the stock market in general.)

PGTI easy to borrow at TOS today.
  • Reaper
I must be learning ... I ran scans last night and the only mildly interesting stock I saw was PGTI, and I identified it as an earnings runner. Still looks overextended, but I'd wait for the right price action. 600k shares available at IB.
  • phil235
TLGD, hopefully we will see it take a dive soon
  • no, phil, we want TLGD to surge, not drop...right now there's sooooooo little downside its not worthwhile
  • and yes reaper, high percentge trades depend on these stocks moving 50-200%+ higher within a few days, when u dont have any stocks up that much, it means u dont trade
  • TonyEllis
HDSN Superman pick looks like it wants to breakout on earnings. I prefer it not break out and consolidate a few days before I'd be interested. Any thoughts Tim?
  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  • notesguy88
Tim is sleepy and Paradox is mute. LOL
  • phil235
This looks boring, I'm going to adult daycare.
  • TheParadox
Tim, i know you don't short in the morning, but would you if PGTI went below 5.50?
  • Reaper
    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  • Ross
    Mornin.

I reserved 200 shares of TLGT and PGTI just in case we get the right action. I am learning to have patience and wait for the right moment. I like the TOS software just need to spend some time getting to know the interface. That is my mission today.

  • TheParadox
    Ross,

I LOVE the analyze, thinkBack tab, if you go to the blue question mark at the top middle/right and launch the learning center... they do a great job of filling you in on its layout. I learned a lot from that very quickly.
  • notesguy88
Unfortunately, I cannot use the TOS software at work. I have to use the web based version.

BTW, PGTI really tanked this morning!
  • TheParadox
yea, im watching it... half of me is saying "YOU BLEW, SELL NOW" and the other half is like "maybe Tim knows something i don't... you should wait"

It sucks waiting, its slide .45 so far...

TLGD is following the same trend as well... just slumping out, down 21 cents.

Tim, are you alive and well? must keep calm, must have patience...
  • Ross
Thanks Paradox for the tip.

Looks like PGTI is going back up. This is an example why Tim does not recommend shortin in the mornin.
  • TheParadox
yea, I'm watching... but it looks like there still are a lot of sellers! Its like they are trying to 1)unload for profits or 2) shorting. Volume is pretty high - more than likely shorts. I can see tim thinking it'll squeeze and should form a dead cat bounce... he'll probably send out an alert on or after the bounce. my guess is at about 5.20
  • sparklejc
nice SQNM breaking down, shorted at 20.08
  • PCola
HDSN now down 17%, hoepfully Superman and his peeps didn't get burned too bad.
  • YoungGunz
Looks like it is trying to bounce. we'll see how it goes into the lunch hour.
  • YoungGunz
superman makes long term picks so I don't think he's going to panic yet.
  • yeahhhh suck on that HDSN longs, the latest reason of why u gotta wait for breakouts occur, not anticipate them
  • astaluss1
    RDN moving
  • YoungGunz
so tim whats your take on pgti? you still looking for a setup here in the afternoon or did the morning suck up all the good downside?
  • TheParadox
DAMN HDSN, you must be pretty pissed when those earnings came out.
  • Reaper
    Morning sucked up the downside.
  • TheParadox
i think TLGD could play out
  • sagar28
Yeah... TLGD looks good.. Dont know when to jump on it.
  • TheParadox
i'm thinking around 5.80, but im not 100% sure it'll make it... looks like there is enough support around 5.80 to keep it above.
  • Reaper
Fools! Not much downside left on TLGD.
  • TheParadox
reaper, can you explain your rationale?

I think with the slow slide, anyone long on with sell out with trailing stops/stop losses... about 5.80 was the last support. IF (big if), it breaks the 5.80ish support, it could possible sink to the mid 4.00 mark. Its already gone down almost 60 cents.

or that 60 cents is really all your gain, and we just watched it pass by.
  • YoungGunz
pgti making a strong effort to come back up.
  • YoungGunz
you didn't just watch it pass by. you're thinking in hind sight. There was no reason to jump in early in the morning you know how risky it looked back then. You're betting with 50/50 odds and yes if you jumped in you could have won but it could have just as easily recovered and rose another 50% and you'd be kicking yourself.

I have a buddy building a site that he thinks will be a good source for information on a hobby of his.

I am trying to convince him that sponsors and advertising is a solid way to generate income for the site. He doesn't believe me

If you don't mind my asking, what kind of revenue are you generating so far from your sponsors and ads? If you aren't comfortable posting raw $ you can email me or just tell me the percent of your income coming from that segment?

    thx Tim
  • TheParadox
yea, your right... it always is too risky to jump early...
  • YoungGunz
wow don't think i have seen that before. pgti just completely flat lined at 5.40 for 30 mins and counting.
  • taxwise1
pgti flatlined for 30 min-now starting to drop?
  • YoungGunz
god damn another boring ass day.
  • youngmoney19
I just signed up for TimAlerts today. I don't have much time to devote to trade but money to do it, I work a lot. Is TimAlerts just morning watchlists? No buy and sell alerts? Can anyone answer this question for me?
  • bobbymapp
ZYXI getting close to those old highs
  • youngmoney19
I just signed up for TimAlerts today. I don
  • kusumo
    @youngmoney

Whenever Tim makes a trade, he will send out an alert (email). Look at the past Tim alerts to see what you can expect.
  • youngmoney19
Thanks for the answer Kusumo. So any time Tim buys or sells or shorts he'll send out an alert(email) to subscribers? Otherwise the morning watchlists will be posted here on the site?
  • kusumo
He'll send an email but sometimes the prices fluctuate from the price Tim actually gets in. That's why you need to buy his Pennystocking DVD and study it if you haven't ;). The alerts he sends out throughout the day will also be posted here.

But once again, read through the older Tim alerts and you'll get an idea.
  • bobbymapp
    ZYXI broke high
  • youngmoney19
Thanks Kusumo, one last question though if you don't mind. I understand all alerts are emailed to your inbox, when he is shorting a stock do most alert subscribers short his daily pick upon his alert arriving in their inbox? Or do you have to watch the morning watchlist and get an idea from there of which stocks you want to short and then reserve? Lastly morning watchlists dont get emailed right?
  • YoungGunz
    ZYXI has news though.
  • bobbymapp
    Im in ZYXI 3.88
  • youngmoney19
Thanks Kusumo, one last question though if you don
  • phil235
Looks like Beacon is pushing FRHV now
  • schmuck
zynex medical holdings filed and 8k report with SEC. This looks like a simple name change to Zynex, Inc. Anybody knows if there is any significance to this?
  • youngmoney19
Thanks Kusumo, one last question though if you don
  • young moeny read the FAQ on timalerts homepage, u get subscribers-only site access and an email so u never miss any picks
  • youngmoney19
Tim is it hard to reserve shares of your stock alerts if I try to reserve them upon you sending out your alert? I work a lot and don't have time to comb through stocks, the only thing I have is email and my iphone to execute trades while I'm at work. Is it hard to do this?
  • notesguy88
I'd rather wait and see if there is an opportunity to short FRHV hehehe...
