im not sure about that didnt break intraday support on ILE. I believe it did. Am I mistakened?? I shorted it anyway. Looks good to me.

NOBL Went from 5.10 to 5.50 for $400.
  • arcus
I hope some of you shorted NOBL. I'm a bag holder...like I figured I'd be. Dropped real quick.
  • awgregory
I guess the question I have then is, what do you consider to be a wall of sellers? TOS Trade Grid shows the top 3 bid and ask (size and amount). For example, if you see 2 to 1 sellers to buyers at the best bid and ask is enough to be considered a wall?
  • whaaaat i've never used stops before, i wouldnt know how to--market makers see em and can take u out, no thanks...picking up supernovas--read my blog post on my main site "where i find stocks to trade"
  • schmuck
NOBL: bought 1000 shares near the close at 5.40 and sold at 5.59 and made only $190 (ex comm)...my timing is worse than tim's...
  • prognesubis
Timothy, in your educational DVD you state that we should use stops when short trading to protect our investment. Wouldn't be better to use one cancel the other to get protection on both ends of the short trade? Can you give us some information on what you use for charting to pick up super novas? (Filters and Technical Expressions)

2008 has been the year of the losses for me, nothing abnormal. I need to reverse that trend. :) I'm not in the states, I was sleeping when you alerted us to NOBL.
  • haha arcus and everyoene lse, when i aim for 20% profits at the max, u cant afford to get in halfway late, you're just begging for losses
  • arcus
lol...I was late to the punch, I got in this morning at 5.50 in premarket.
  • no way to shorting it, probly just gonna bounce around...here's the new alert:

    http://www.timalerts.com/2008/08/08/sold-nobl-f...

lets hear how much u guys made!
  • bigjimstradingpost
Wanna short the pig at $5.68?
  • PCola
LOL, I was watching my order get filled when I got Tim's alert that he sold. Guess I should have held longer as well. Ohw ell, can't complain about $1100 in 17 trading minutes.
  • PCola
Out of NOBL at $5.65. Made $1,140.19 after commission.
  • bigjimstradingpost
LLNW Long Filled at $4.06...could only get 50 shares premarket..
TQNT bouncing a bit...may have to pull the trigger and short more..
    ETFC up a couple cents...
  • out of NOBL at 5.50ish, looks like i was too early again LOL
  • bigjimstradingpost
    Short 2000 TQNT at $5.98
  • bigjimstradingpost
Still no fill on TQNT, GERN, FLWS and I bagged a whopping 50 shares of LLNW... I Guess we'll see what happens after the bell.
  • YoungGunz
watching level two. ToS level 2 sucks for seeing that though because if there are more then 5 bids and asks you can't tell which one has more then the other.
  • bigjimstradingpost
Just dropped in a premarket to short 2000 TQNT as a sympathy play on the ANAD TANKAGE!!!
  • awgregory
Tim, I finally was able to get into one of your trades and I really stoked! How do you know when the wall of sellers shows up?
  • bigjimstradingpost
    Hmmm.
I wonder is TQNT and SWKS will fall in sympathy wiht ANAD???
  • Reaper
GFET very nice short setup but for being so low-priced. I'll only short it if its price action is perfect. There are 100k shares of it available at IB.
  • Looks like ANAD is in the midst of creating some bitter shareholders
  • PCola
Wes, there's virtually no chance that NOBL puts Tim over $25K on livestock today unless he deviates from his normal trading. NOBL could put him over $25K, or he could still be holding NOBL by Livestock time, but not both. If it spikes to over $6 at the open Tim will sell, and if it doesn't, the odds of him holding for 4 hours and THEN having it spike over $6 in that 1 hour LiveStock time period are pretty slim. If you want him to break $25K on LiveStock, hope for a nice spike on NOBL to just under $6, Tim can sell, and then hope for anotehr ideal trade to pop up while he's LiveStocking to get him that last few hundred.
  • kelvin
they said there's no CHC available now
  • bigjimstradingpost
    Morning Gang...

Here's what I'm up to today...if you give a shit..

Just bought 10000 ETFC premarket for $2.94 looking for a dime...
Premarket order in to short 1000 FLWs at $6.55 but it hasn't filled yet
Premarket order in to buy 2000 LLNW at $4 but it hasn't filled yet
Premarket order in for 3000 GERN at $4.25 not yet filled...

Good luck to you all. I won't be able to hang all day. Going to try and snag a couple quick scalps at the open then head to Czech for a Texas Hold'em tourney...
  • YoungGunz
damn took 15 mins of pending for the broker to tell me there were no shares of RTK
  • Wes
Wow Tim...NOBL has a good chance put you over the $25k mark....that would make for a good LiveStock
  • Ross
    Mornin All,

    Reserved 500 shares CHC

@ Wes till the end of the trading day
  • exactly wes, thinkorswim doesnt like me advocating possible shorts, they dont get commissions!
  • YoungGunz
    they're good for the day
  • Wes
I thought the point of reserving was for a "possible" short....how long do shares stay reserved anyway?
  • notesguy88
plnr is easy to borrow so I didn't bother to reserve.
  • YoungGunz
How do you know how many shares ToS has? Do you just ask the broker when you go to reserve? Every time I just ask to reserve shares and they always ask how many I want before they go to check.
  • notesguy88
I reserved chc and rtk just in case.
  • YoungGunz
I got some CHC. YTBLA there is none. Didn't check RTK. I am thinking it will die fast in the morning and I don't want to have to watch that and NOBLE at the same time.
  • Reaper
    TOS has plenty of CHC.
  • kelvin
    sleepy .!!
  • notesguy88
TOS has no shares of ytbla or csar available to reserve.
  • I got in at 1500 shares of NOBL at $5.26... ready to go!
  • YoungGunz
still waiting for response on my reserve request. So ToS is getting a little annoyed that so many people are starting to reserve and not use the shares? What they expect us to do with hard to borrow stocks. Its not like we're doing it on purpose the stocks are the ones to blame for not cooperating :)
  • lamecoder
I'm awake. The pre-market bids looks good on NOBL. I look forward to profiting from your pick. It will be my second Tim trade.
  • notesguy88
    Where's my coffee? LOL
  • wake up wake up wake up
